Very helpful instructions and tips

Once again, Turbo Tax has proven to be extremely helpful. My S corporation taxes are usually complex, and this year I had to submit a request for an extension as one of my accounts submitted an incorrect 1099 and it literally took MONTHS for them to confirm it was accurate. I did the extension with Turbo Tax, and it was seamless. I have been frustrated by the lack of accuracy with several accountants I have used, so this is my way of taking complete ownership of the process. Plus, I am much better informed in regards to available deductions.
What's great about it: Guides through entire process
What's not so great: None

Sadly Missing Key Feature

As a software promoted for business use, it is inconceivable there is no provision to handle net operating loss. This is a common business situation that many businesses have need for. Additionally, the screens that even mention that such a situation needs to be considered lie behind a "no errors on review" screen. One only sees them if error check finds something it wants corrected. Considering the high quality of other TurboTax products I have used, this one is not worth purchasing.
What's great about it: Great on Included Forms
What's not so great: Can Not Do NOL (Form 1045)

Too many oddities. Use it because I've used it for so long. Would not recommend to someone starting fresh. Each year there seem to be more and more glitches, irregularities, fields that should fill on their own but don't, error checks that are ok and then not ok, etc etc.
What's great about it: Beats doing it by hand
What's not so great: Glitchier every year

Software is Broken

First, you can't upload Quick Books online. I mean, it's online!
When I did my Federal taxes, I could not make my balance sheet balance although my QB balance sheet did. I spent hours and hours trying to figure it out. Software used my net income as my retained earnings and I could not fix the retained earning even though I had the beginning balance from last year.
The question MY RETAINED EARNINGS MATCH actually didn't match. The retained earning in the question (WHICH WERE CORRECT) were different than the retained earning the software entered on my form.
So I finally had to over-ride the figures.
When I did my State taxes my retained earning were correct there but now my Total Liability and Equity number was completely off and I had to over-ride that number. Then it tells me it can't check for mistakes until I erase my over-ride.
I had to print all 52 pages so I can go through it manually before I dare e-file it.
I'm exhausted!
What's great about it: I'm a patient Person
What's not so great: had to over-ride figures

Too many problems this year!

I've used Turbotax for 10+ years, but this is probably the last year. The program takes longer and longer to open each year. But the bigger problem this year was that it kept locking up, shutting down, and would not load upgrades. Also, I think the Business Program should include the ability to also file your personal tax return. I am tired of having to purchase multiple programs for my business and personal returns!
What's great about it: User friendly, good at pulling info from prior years
What's not so great: Lots of problems with the program

Great product with LIMITED availability

I have been using Turbo Tax business for YEARS to handle my corporate taxes. My ONLY con (and it's a big enough one that I am considering hiring a CPA next year instead of using Turbo Tax again) is that the business version is STILL not available to run on Mac computers. This is a huge time-waste for me as my company uses all Mac products. I had to purchase a new PC this year just in order to do my taxes, and then the process of transferring information, manually entering my QuickBooks data, etc - this at least DOUBLED the amount of time it took me to complete my returns. In this day, when Mac products are literally everywhere, it is shocking that a program would refuse to support it.
What's great about it: Easy, Clear, Comprehensive
What's not so great: Incompatible with Mac computers

Needs major improvements

from New York, NY
Turbo Tax Business does not have the same capabilities as Turbo Tax Home and Business. There is no upgrade version therefore it is what it is which means it lacks necessary usefulness. Other inexpensive programs such as TaxAct and Block perform these functions.
What's not so great: Doesn't import 1099's or K-1's. Won't e-file NYS fiduciary. Won't e-file Federal with multiple 1116's.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Business C Corp.

Totally frustrating to use a program that you have to constantly reset options on. The 2016 Turbo Tax Business for C Corps. is buggy and the worst product that I have experienced from Intuit over the past 10 years. Not only did the program not pick up the NOL carryforward for state from the 2015 transfer, it continually checked off the reporting of State Schedule L, M1 and M2 if any changes or corrections needed to be made. Additionally, had to override the amount/duplication of this years General Business Credit in prior years General Business Credit carryforward. Very poorly executed Intuit.
What's not so great: Buggy program
