Prior Year balance sheet????

Overall, Turbotax is ok for partnerships and/or LLCs; however, this year you are assuming the balance sheet will not be prepared; as a result, when it IS chosen to include, "Other Assets" are not being carried forward from the previous year. This ERROR is constant with each return prepared!!!!

Works Well Except Retained Earnings Calculations

I have been a 1040 Turbo Tax software user for 15 years. I love its easy entry and the option to select the areas to work on rather than only through an interview process. It's very thorough and prevents errors or omissions. Unfortunately, the Business version does not handle distributions and Retained Earnings calculations properly. It has been that way for the 3 years I've used it, and has not been corrected. I always have to do overrides to get it correct.
What's great about it: Easy entry, depreciation calcs, electronic submission
What's not so great: RE and Distributions not calculated or transferred correctly

Makes Tax Filing so Simple

As always, TurboTax comes through as the most comprehensive and easy to use tax preparation on the market today.
What's great about it: Ease of use, checks for missing information, guides you through the process

Easy, error-free, empowering

I have been using TurboTax since when the software came in the mail in floppy disks. It has always been easy to use and it's only gotten better each year. For me, there has not been any mathematical errors nor has the IRS come knocking my door, and this is very important when I choose tax software to help me navigate an ever increasingly complex tax code.

Made filing easy for a novice like me

This is my first year in business . I waited to long to hire an accountant and by the time i went looking they were all over booked . I had no idea what I was going to do . Thankfully I found This . It made filing easy , and i saved money by not paying someone to do it . I was intimidated about doing my own taxes at first because i do not know anything about depreciation and other deductions but all those thing are built in to Turbo Tax .
What's great about it: all the calulations are done for me , it just asks questions and if you get stuck , there is always a help section
What's not so great: dose not import from Quickbooks online . This software must be installed on a computer .

First Timer

this was my first time using Turbo Tax and I am pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to use - the only confusing thing was the amount of choices to chose from - so many products - have to file 1120S this year and had actually bought the wrong program & called the help line - very nice girl talked me thru the procedures & returning CD & downloading the correct program & to mail back the CD & I am supposed to get a refund - hope TT follows thru with that!
What's great about it: easy to guide thru
What's not so great: too many programs
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

OVerall Utilization

I've been using turbo tax now for over 8 years and have never had an issue with my taxes. simple to use especially if your business is not as complicated as mine.
Only con is that for repeated users, turbo does not offer any significant discounts for loyal repeat users.

Straightforward but pricey for what I needed

The product was more than I needed but there was nothing else available that would generate Partnership returns. Next year, I will do it by hand. However, I am an accountant. For others non-accountant, the product walks you through the process.
What's great about it: Walks you through the process
What's not so great: Pricey for a pretty simply partnership return
