Still going strong

This is my 4th years using TTax for business and 26th year using TTax for personal taxes. You have saved me thousands versus using a CPA and Tax Attorney/Tax Firm. Quick Books and Turbo Tax are all any small business owner needs.
What's great about it: Saves alot of $$ vs Tax Accountants
What's not so great: Have'nt found any

Turbo tax for business
on February 7, 2017
Posted by: dkraft
I would change the expense input so that the program shows a total of the amounts input. That part of the program took the most time and an adding machine to reconcile with book records. The most confusing part of the program is the use of the K-1 allocation capabilities built within the program. I was able to accomplish what needed to be done, however it took me a while to remember how to do it.
What's great about it: Very efficient overall
What's not so great: Lacks a few control totals that would make expense input easier to reconcile
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Federal very good - state so-so
on February 7, 2017

The Federal part of TurboTax Corporate works very well, explains things well, and is simple to use.
The State part (NC at least) is not nearly as well integrated into the overall experience, and has no help files at all.
What's great about it: Federal done well with good help
What's not so great: State - no help on any of it

TurboTax Quality Declining
on February 7, 2017

I had a tough time making it through your auto-import from my QuickBook 16 accounts this year. Seemed to be lots of erroneous duplication errors in your menus. The final numbers for input into the K-1's didn't match what was in your step-by-step entry. Page 2 of your K-1's did not show the name of the partner for whom the K-1 was for. The Extension Form 7004 gives us 5 months from 15 March 2017 to 15 August 2017. However, your cover letters for the Fed Form 1065 and the Oregon form 65 says the extension is good until 15 Sep 2017, which is confusing.
Your TurboTax Audit Defense tracking system is still in a shambles, just like the last 3 years. The account numbers you send after buying the product don't match the names of the companies on the 1065's. I have 3 separate partnership 1065's and 1 1040 filing that I've been using the Audit Defense for but you keep putting the wrong company names on the certs which makes it tough to track what we really have covered. All in all, I'm becoming more dissatisfied with TurboTax. I will see how the next 2 1065 preparations go.
What's great about it: Seems to cover the bases
What's not so great: Several errors in layout & explanation
