frustration

Pros: 1)easy to use except where it's not Cons: 1) no indication of where / whether direct deposit info can be entered or, if not, when and why feds decided to disallow direct deposit of refunds. 2) no help with modifications for state return re: K-1 income 3) circular error check (never resolved). Error check says no errors yet, when ready to print, program asks if I want to print even though the return contains errors!
What's great about it: easy except where it's not
What's not so great: changes from last year - no directions
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Annual Criticism

Being able to download income and sale information directly from brokerage houses as can be done with personal returns would GREATLY simplify the process and minimize errors in reporting. I don't understand why you haven't implemented this feature after all these years.
What's great about it: Entering information was quite easy
What's not so great: Inability to download from brokerage firms
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I liked the feature that gives tax estimate on personal TurboTax. I wish I did not have to wait till I am ready to file to find out about the amount on K1 form.
What's great about it: Very easy to use
What's not so great: Did not get to see K1 form till the end

Left hanging
on April 8, 2017

Navigation paths need some SERIOUS work. Too many times, I was left hanging with no obvious place to go. Got to the end of the filing and was informed that I needed to send electronic payment for state taxes but there was no nav path to complete this option. This is just one example of multiple issues with this years software.
What's great about it: step by step was helpfull
What's not so great: Too many times left in some place without obvious navigation path to next step

Love being able to 'do it myself'

We love turbotax products and have been using them for ten years now. Our big beefs, now that we've graduated to the Business Edition, is that we have to use the computer based software (the online version doesn't handle Multi-Owner LLCs (yet)), and, since we don't do our books in Quickbooks (the software only allows imports from Quickbooks) there is a lot of manual data entry as you post transactions for the year (hope you kept good records). That is the only challenge so, if you use Quickbooks for your business, you would be golden with Turbotax for Business.
What's great about it: Guides you at ever step
What's not so great: Only works with QuickBooks and doesn't have an online version

Very good for partnerships
on April 9, 2017

Overall this is an excellent program for completing partnership returns. I only have used it for partnerships. Overall it handles most situations very well. Sometimes it is hard to figure out how to input less common items such as Section 1250 gain, or some other outliers that I seem to encounter each year. But with the ability to bypass Step-by-Step and go right into the Forms I have always managed to complete my return each year.
What's great about it: Easy, comprehensive for common tasks
What's not so great: Some special situations not so easy

OverPromised

Program promised to pull info from last years Turbo Tax and did not. It did not have an option to pull brokerage accounts either. So there is a lot of typing or you have to send your brokerage statement to the IRS. Its almost impossible to take the foreign tax credit. Way to complex. When the program recommends doing something it should have a link.
What's great about it: Not sure it had any
What's not so great: Did not pull info from prior year TurboTax Program or Brokerage Accounts
Pros: I bought or sold investments
