Trust Worthy

Turbo Tax for individuals lets me download all of my brokerage 1099 data. Business does not. It should be easy to add since it already exists in the other product. Just clone the process.
Also the product keeps asking to file my state return. Florida does not require a state tax return unless the Trust owns real estate. Learned my lesson the hard way years ago ... paid for a state version that I didn't need
What's great about it: Has all the forms and instructions I need to e-file my trust tax returns
What's not so great: Does not connect to my brokerage account to download 1099 information

I have been using Turbo Tax for my business and personal taxes for 15+ years. Lots of info transfers over from year to year and really makes taxes easy and quick! Forum type area probably already has an answer for any thing you may not understand.
What's great about it: Smooth and easy to use
What's not so great: Glitches once in a while

Simply great software

Turbo Tax Business edition makes filing business tax returns so easy. The step by step guidance makes it a no-brainer. Even though I'm a CPA and very adept at filing these forms, I still like using the guidance and error checking to make sure I got it right.
What's great about it: Easy - guides you like a pro
What's not so great: no cons

Federal & Calif. Trust Returns

I've used the personal version of Turbo Tax for many years. As a "first timer" with the Trust version I found it less helpful than what I expected. For example, I spent a fair amount of time lost about a Schedule J and still don't know why I had to "override" the name of the trust.
What's great about it: transfer of data, data entry
What's not so great: help screens not as good as for individual returns

Easy unless its not easy

All in all, its a good product. Appears to be fairly bug free, and it was generally simple to complete the trust returns I was doing.
There were times, especially during the review at the end when it would ask me questions that I just couldn't know without research on the IRS website. It would be helpful, to include the location/URL of the forms or information on the IRS site when asking the question so users know they are looking/researching the right thing
What's great about it: Able to fill out forms quickly, and electronically file trust and business returns
What's not so great: Often asks questions about the return that required me to get on the IRS site to research before I could answer them cor

It's Okay

The software is okay, at the end when you are ready to e-file it kept saying it was wrong. Despite constantly telling me it was correct throughout the whole process. It kept me going in a loop without ever telling me what was wrong.
What's great about it: Easy in the beginning
What's not so great: Useless in the end
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax Business 2016 continues the TT tradition of making taxes easy. It is an ideal solution for a small trust that could be decimated by CPA fees.
