Worth the Money

Overall, very good; however, work with a trust that owns a farm. Only way to get to Schedule F to enter farm income (federal CRP payments) is to go into forms mode, find Schedule F, and then manually input the figures into the form. Since this has been an issue for several years, need to find an easier way for estates/trusts that have farm income to get to Schedule F and enter data without having to go to forms and manually inputting the data.
What's great about it: Very easy to use overall
What's not so great: Does not clearly get to Schedule F

Super Easy

I have had my taxes professionally done for the past two years. Due to some circumstances, I had to do my own this year... I don't think I will go back. It was very easy to follow, and complete.
What's great about it: Wonderful Step by Step!
What's not so great: None that I found
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Hate Turbo Tax

Last Year Turbo Tax nearly cost me 5,000 dollars for a late filed business tax return. Luckily the IRS listened to me, and allowed me to amend the erroneous Tax Return

Improvements possible

First return took several hours because I had to experiment to get the results I needed.
I mailed the returns because efile cost too much. All filing of returns should be paid by IRS because it saves them the work of converting to digital.
What's great about it: Sure beats writing in longhand
What's not so great: User must know what he wants. Individual Turbo Tax is better.

Just OK

I have used Turbo Tax for years for both business and personal filing. I always find it to be lacking in user friendliness. Many times the software presumes that we ALL are CPS's and know what each page of a return is for. I think if Turbo Tax would treat each type of software, both business and personal, as if the user never filed taxes before, that would be helpful! At the end of the business filing, the IRS kept rejecting the efile and the explanation given by Turbo Tax might as well have been written in French! I ended up having to call the IRS to find out that it was something simple that Turbo Tax never even landed on in the reasons the return was rejected. In fact, if I would have followed what I understood Turbo Tax to be telling me to do, the IRS would have really rejected the filing!!
What's great about it: The software walked me thru each section of the return
What's not so great: There were questions or problems posed by Turbo Tax at the end but were not clear as to how to fix the problem.

Very Helpfull

I have had more than 10 years using the program and notice that every year has been more and more effective.
What's great about it: great advantage is the verification made to each entry and the transfer from Quickbooks.
What's not so great: Nothing

2015 I purchased Turbo Tax 2015 to complete my Returns: 1120S corp and 1040 Fed and State. My 1120S was returned to me three times and then my 1040 followed, also being rejected. By that time I gave up and submitted to the IRS format which resulted in three refunds, the last two arriving in 2017. Of course, by then it was too late to try and obtain any refund for the TurboTax software; and I also purchased the professional audit services even it was too late to obtain their audit services.
Now, this year again I purchased the 2016 BUSINESS and Home & Business disks. By the end of the Business calc... it showed NO fees were due, nor were any Refunds shown; they both ended-up with NO box calculations showing; and after calculating the State return, I was informed it COULD NOT BE filed, either. If I cannot get this straightened out soon, I am going to request refunds for both the Business and Home & Business disks.
What's not so great: Takes a long calculated time to use.
