The Nu-wave works well for about a year. Then you get a 'hot spot' in the rear area of the cook top. Iâve had two and they both have done it!!!

I use this for cooking out on my porch, particularly in the hot summer months when I don't want to heat up the kitchen. It works FANTASTIC for canning (using a stainless steel steam scanner--- mine is from Tramontina), because the jars have to process for a set period of time. Once the water comes to a boil, I know exactly what temp to set this at, and I can program the time. It shuts off automatically and so I don't have to be right there immediately. <br>It also works especially great when I am cooking for a crowd and either need extra burners or need to keep something warm. It is so portable (definitely get the carrying case, which is extra) that I can just take it with me to wherever the party is.<br>I have looked at a few other induction cooktops, and they do not offer as fine control of temperature as this one. A 30 degree spread just is not enough. This one is in 10 degree increments.<br>I originally got 2, but dropped one and it landed glass side down (on the concrete) and broke the glass top, so now I am down to one. If it ever breaks, I will definitely buy another.

I no longer use my electric stove top...I have 2 PIC's which serve as my only cooking surface. Fast, virtually mistake proof. The best part...I have the lowest electric bills in my building...ECONOMY!!! (I also have the NuWave Oven...don't use my oven anymore, either!)

No! Never have I seen a PIC at second hand shop! That's what got me to buy my PIC 2's and now five years later after approximately five thousand five hundred uses, yes 5,500 and maybe more, these poor things have had it. We are not the easy does it or coddling types; we beat these things like they were rented! Only one problem with them, they have SPOILT us. I can set it and forget it for rice in less than twenty minutes, FOR RICE!!! We cannot go back to that overpriced junk stove top that you have stand and wait for it to maybe one day boil, we just can't. So we're going to get the PIC Titanium's and that orange colored New Wave oven. BTW, our electric bill is lower when we use these glorious little appliances.

I cooked gas for years and said I would never cook on anything else. But this keeps the heat down in the kitchen and cleaner as well! Did you know that you can put a towel over the top and pan on the towel and fry bacon right through the towel and grease spatter just stays on the towel! In addition if you cook sou vide you can set the exact temp and it keeps the water temp perfectly heated without using any special cooking device. And last by not least you can take the unit outside on nice days and fry fish and keep odors out of the house and have fun doing it. Try one out you will not be disappointed! Two is even better because on holiday it's fast and comes in handy!!
