Small sleek easy and solid system

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this LG Smart Security camera for a few days now. I'm familiar with and have used several different systems in the past and as far as setup and ease of use, this is by far the best. The unboxing and set up literally only took 5 minutes, and that included a quick software update. Very happy with how simple it was. Take it out, download the ADT Canopy app and register for an account. From there you can add on ADT's monitoring services free for 60 day trial if you like. The app is super simple and works like many of the smart home device apps I've used. You can create alerts based on actions in a snap. The view of the room is sharp and clear. I am impressed how good it looks in low light too. The camera itself is small black and stylish. Feels good and solid. Looks great on my living room entertainment console and is really not very noticeable, so for a security camera that's a great thing. To sum it up, the quality of the picture detail, and simplicity alone make this camera a real winner in my book based on having used other much more complicated systems within less quality video.
Pros: Style/Design, Performance, Quality, easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This camera is very simple to use and set up, not complicated at all, just download the APP enter your information and network password and that is all. You can enjoy the camera right out of the box.For additional fee using ADT hoe security services it will record movements based on your settings up to 7 days. But if you want to monitor the area you don't have to sign up for the service. Great picture quality and you can even talk and hear from the camera. I think is awesome, another LG great product
Pros: Performance, easy to use

VERY NICE UNIT

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have 4 Arlo Pro cameras. They are very easy to use. They are wireless and I can set them up on the wall and outside. So I will be using this data to critique your unit. This is a very nice unit. It has a very nice look. I like that it picks up the wifi wireless. Arlo you have a base station that plugs in and you have to set it to each unit and it plugs into the router, so your alarm is not near the camera. I think it was very difficult to set up on the app. I finally figured it out, but I cant figure out how to set off the alarm or to talk through it or even listening, to set the volume. The app is very hard to figure out. It should be made simpler. There should be a place to set up motion sensor and off. Just not very user friendly. Luckily I set up my Arlos, so I know what to look for. This has to be set on a table or something else to be used. I like the idea of having a camera that can be mounted on the wall away from everything. This will be in the way and probably knocked out of placement. I see that this is set up with ADT, so that adds money every month. Arlo will do a simple motion detection and keep it for a week for free. The camera picture is very good. The sound is great. I notice that the unit is very warm. I don’t know how much electricity it will draw. I did notice that the app is pretty good at opening up the picture real fast. Sometimes Arlo takes too long and it times out. Oh, I have to sign in each time I want to check the camera. That is a pain. I will check it out this week and add more. First night with the system woke us up about 2am. Still don’t know why. I think it detected my wireless thermostat and is now checking out my humidity levels. Now I don’t have to sign in each time to check the house out. It hooks up quicker than arlo. I like that. Now I cant figure out why I cant change any settings on the unit. This is way too much work. I don’t want it to send me messages all the time about stupid stuff about the humidity in the room, unless. I don’t really like this set up. I think you need to make the app easier to use. You need a booklet so people have a step by step on how to use it. While your at it, give it a wall mount so it will stay in one place, and you dont have to worry about moving it.
Pros: Style/Design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This camera is compact and portable. I am able to move it from room to room just by unplugging it. It is undetectable and compliments any decor. I can even take it on trips to my vacation home. The app was difficult for me to download, but I am a senior and I'm not tech savvy. This camera can be easily set up through ADT for 24 hour security for a small monthly fee, which I may sign up later for this. It still works great without signing up. No contract is needed for this service which I really like. It is a nice addition to my home for security.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the LHC5200WI five days ago. It was easy to set up through my wireless network.I installed the Smart Security ADT Canopy app on my cell phone and started getting the live feed from the LG Smart Security Camera. It has a very good day time picture quality and i really like the fact that it has two way communication. It did take awhile to figure out how to work the two way communication as the instructions are very basic and vague as to the operation of the unit. The camera unit is nicely styled so it fits in well most places, the power cord is long enough to allow you to mount the camera up high or good distance from an outlet. You do have to set the camera on a flat surface like a table or a shelf, for some this could be a drawback if you want to mount it on a wall, but i did not find this to be a problem. I set mine for testing on top of a corner cabinet in our sun room where i can see my patio door and check on my dog when I'm not at home. The temperature and humidity sensors are a nice feature. What I don't personally care for is the ADT aspect of it. I personally do not want to have to pay someone a monthly fee to monitor my camera. I would be much happier with a stand alone app and or a computer program from LG that that allowed me to monitor and record video on my phone and PC. The Night vision on the camera could also use some improvement, It picks up some light from the windows and makes it difficult to see certain areas in the room. The app works well most of the time, occasionally when I open the app i get sound but no picture so i have to restart the app or click on the Devices icon then click on the home icon to get the live feed picture. Over all the Smart Security Camera works very well in my opinion. I would give a Five Star rating for this if it had the stand alone LG app I mentioned above.

Simple setup

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a few non LG brand security cameras, and I can honestly say that LG was by far the easiest to setup and start using. Out of the box and up and running in less than 10 minutes! Download the ADT Canopy app, follow the prompts to connect to your wifi signal and sign up for the optional monitoring service. You get the option for a 60 day free trial, so you can see first hand all of the benefits on using the service.
The product is a nice looking unit and fits well with my decor. I wish the two IR lights on the front of the unit weren't so bright. I know by being brighter they alluminate the room better, but it makes the camera stand out in a dark room. I have other units that have more lights, but those units are muted so the camera aren't so conspicuous. Not sure if that's a problem or not.
The unit has a great picture day or night and it will send you notifications. I hope in future app updates it'll send notifications over my smart watch. I currently receive a notification and a snapshot on my watch from one of my other cameras and it's very convenient. I really like the fact that it's monitoring my homes temperature and humidity along with having the ability to listen and talk through the device.

Doesn't Connect to WIFI

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the unit and followed the setup instructions. Everything appeared fine until I clicked on my WIFI connection - It fails to connect(It sees the router). I had 5 other devices successfully connected(2 Phones, 1 Tablet, 1 Laptop, 1 ROKU). I tried several times with no luck. The other issue was touching the top of the unit to turn it on. It took a few touches for it to respond. I didn't like the design.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Security Device - Minor Flaws
on June 22, 2017

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The device has very stylish packaging and was very simple to set up. It blends seamlessly into a space and has great potential but possesses a few minor flaws.
The App is pretty intuitive is you are familiar with smart devices and has integration with the Zigbee protocol. All of the smart devices in my home are Alexa or HomeKit compatable so they could not share information with this device.
Despite this, the app is fairly well laid out and the image quality is great with some minor lag and I have pretty fast internet service at 300Mbs. No service is required but it is necessary if you would like to access video captured by the device, otherwise, you only have access to live footage. The app also records a log of all temperature and humidity changes which leads to an extensive log of events since it is susceptible to minor changes. It would be great if you can set thresholds to minimize the amount of events captured. Also, the humidity sensor in my device is keeps faulting so I will attempt to reset the device as a remedy. It also makes a clicking noise when updating or switching modes. Overall, it is a solid device that I would recommend despite some minor flaws that could be simply addressed through an app update.
