I have had this TV for about a month and really enjoy it. My grandchildren really like the 3D and I am looking forward to watching the Rose Parade in 3D. The only problem I have with the TV is the poor sound quality out of the box but I think most people use other sound systems. It works fine with my Bose Lifestyle 35 system. I would highly recommend this TV to my friends.

I really enjoy this TV with it's good picture quality and easy to use and the style design is very good. What I feel regret is that the apps is too little and with no any Chinese apps like 'youku' 'pptv' etc, Another problem for me is there is no input language selection of Chinese.

Great LED TV and Great 3D to Boot!

I was unsure about the quality of 3D on TV's and looked at both passive and active 3D before purchasing this. It came down to the price of glasses and the TV, and I just decided to go with the less expensive option. I expected a great LED TV, and OK 3D that might be amusing every once in a while. Well, sufficed to say, this has a great 2D picture, but what surprised me the most is the quality of the 3D. It is spectacular! I couldn't be happier with my purchase!

Purchased the tv almost 2 months ago and am really enjoying it. It has clear and vibrant picture. We enjoy being able to bring up the internet on the tv and automatically receive updates for it. Wish it came with more than one remote so we do not have to pass the remote to the next player when we are playing games.

Great quality and picture

This TV has been great thus far. We got it around Thanksgiving and it has not disappointed. Picture quality is great and we have become accustomed to the remote. About the only quirk I've seen is that depressing the home button on the remote doesn't take me to the home screen most of the time. Still trying to figure that one out. Works great from the iPad and Galaxy Nexus Apps. I highly recommend this TV!

I did a lot of research on 3D TV's before I purchased the 55LM8600 from LG, and I'm glad I decided to go with this one. Though there are many similar that are less expensive, the quality of this one is worth the investment.
First off, I love the styling. The polished metal finish along the bottom and the ultra slim design are exquisite.
The picture is outstanding. The passive 3D makes you wonder why the active 3D even exists. I'm still working on some of the settings such as Tru Motion. It takes a bit of getting used to, but with a few adjustments, it can be tailored to your liking.
I have the TV connected to a wired ethernet connection, so I can't say how the well the wireless works, but most of the smart apps work great. I streamed The Avengers 3D from the LG store and had a superb picture quality. I've also used several of the other built in apps and though some are a bit disappointing (Facebook), most work well. I especially love the You Tube app. The HD videos from You Tube look great.
I didn't consider the sound quality of the TV as a purchasing consideration since I use a home theater system for sound, so I have no opinion on the sound quality of the built in speakers.
The magic remote is a bit unusual. It's like using a Wii controller. Though it has its perks, the most annoying thing is switching inputs is a lot more work than it should be, or would be with a standard remote. I give LG credit for the creative idea, but it needs some work. There's room on the remote for a few more buttons for convenience.
Everybody that came by the house during the holidays were impressed and without hesitation, I recommended it to everyone. Most were impressed with how slim the design is. It's only slightly bigger than an 8 year old plasma 42 inch TV.
This TV is the best TV i ever purchased!!! My kids love it as much as i do and we have been watching all of our movies over again.
My wife thought i was crazy and wasting money because there's nothing wrong with TV we got except its a 6 year old plasma with burn in from my kids. But after she saw the picture and the 3D and 2D to 3D she understood why i made this purchase and now i'm not so crazy hahahahaha.
I investigated and reviewed alot of TVs and there were some others that caught my eye but after reading the reviews about the TVs and they were all active glasses 3D TVs, that the glasses were causing headaches and eye strain to alot of people. Then reading reviews on the passive glasses and the Lg TVs there were no eye strains or headaches. This is why i leaned towards this type of TV. I was originally going for the 55LM6700 but they were out of stock and had this one in stock. I paid $300.00 more but it was worth it.
Well enough rambling and go see this TV for yourself. I think the couple and i mean couple of bad reviews i seen on this TV were just bad TVs.
