Great TV!

This is a great TV!
Picture Quality: The LG 55LM8600 TV has great picture quality with vibrant colors and nice black levels (Due to local dimming). The coating on the TV helps with Glare, but I wish LG would have offered the 55LM8600 in a matte finish, to help with glare. The glare will depend on the lighting in the room, and I assure you it is not as bad as other TVs in the market, that are like looking into a mirror.
Magic Remote: The point and click technology in the magic remote is simply the best user navigation in the industry. I love it! Only thing I would change is I would love it if there was a full keyboard on one side of the remote, like the LG Google TV (55G2 and 47G2). I'd be more than willing to pay extra for this feature. In the meantime, I plug a keyboard directly into the USB port and it works just fine, but it would be nice to have it all integrated into one "Magic" remote.... see what i did there?
3D: The 3D on this TV is awesome! I love the passive 3D as the glasses are much more comfortable and you never have to worry about the batteries running low, as you do with Active 3D TVs. It's also nice that the TV comes with 6 pairs of glasses so you can have all your friends over to enjoy 3D. My wife and I both wear glasses so in order to avoid having to wear 2 pairs of glasses we purchased the LG Clip-on 3D glasses. If you wear glasses on a regular basis, I highly recommend it.
Conclusion: I am very happy with my purchase of this TV and believe it to be above the curve in today's competitive TV market.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, awesome tv

Amazing TV - More Than I bargained For!

This TV rocks! I am a former custom home theater installer and I have personally installed just about every tv/projector out there and this one is a home run! I finally was able to purchase the tv of my dreams and when I brought this home and plugged it in - it was pleasure right out of the box. The Smart feature is a gas to play with and the picture feels like you can reach right through it - totally amazing! All our friends wants one now after seeing mine. It's slim, stylish, a beautiful stand if not mouting it on a wall and the remote itself is a talking point with our friends - it looks like a slim alien weapon or something. Too cool! Trust me, this is the tv you want, don't settle for anything less.

Excellent TV with decent features

The Pros: Set up was a breeze Excellent picture quality. The dual play feature (2 full screen overlayed images instead of split screen) is incredible.
The Cons: While the remote is nice, it routinely fools you into thinking you can click onscreen buttons/prompts from your DVD player or other peripheral component. Yes you can bring up the onscreen remote but i prefer to use another universal remote with all the buttons.
The reflection/glare from lights in the room on this matte finish forces you to think about viewing angles before you sit down.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Pros: 1, the 3D effect is stunning beautifully. 2, the matte screen is much better than the glossy screen
Cons: 1, there is great room for improve on the magic control and the UI for the TV 2, it's better to have an standard remote control and full QWERT keyboard 3, the flash on the built-in browser is troublesome, cannot fullscreen, cannot update etc...
Pros: Quality

I have had this TV for about a month now and am very satisfied with its performance. The picture is great (with manual tweaking), the viewing angle is extensive and even the sound is good. The apps load quickly and my wireless connection is solid. The remote can be a bit twitchy, but all in all, this is a solid performer.
Pros: Quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is one awesome TV!

I've had my 55LM8600 for about 2 weeks now and I'm very impressed with it thus far. The picture quality is amazing, the Passive 3D is awesome, and the smart features are very cool.
Picture Quality: The picture is insanely good. The clarity is unbelievable and the blacks are very good thanks to local dimming. The fact that it offers local dimming and is an edge lit LCD/LED TV is quite impressive to say the least (This feature is usually only available on full array televisions).
Magic Remote: The Magic Remote is a really cool. The point and click functionality is simply the best option for user navigation in the industry. The voice recognition is pretty cool too! Can't wait for the LG Gesture Cam to come out so I can give that a try.
3D: The Passive 3D on this TV is awesome. The TV comes with 6 pairs of glasses. Additionally, my wife and I purchased 2 sets of LG AG-F220 clip-on 3d glasses (http://www.amazon.com/LG-AG-F220-Cinema-Glasses-LED-LCD/dp/B00540XS32/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1337726878&sr=8-1). We both wear glasses so to avoid having to wear 2 pairs of glasses at once we simply clip on the LG AG-F220s and we're good to watch in 3D.
LG Magic App: LG has created a really cool app for your smart device that allows you to control your TV and even watch your TV on your smart device. The app is already out for iPhone but the Android version has not yet been released. I emailed LG customer support and they informed me that the Android LG Magic App will be available in June 2012.
Wish List: I wish LG would offer a magic remote that has a full keyboard on it, like the LG Google TV 55G2/47G2's remote. I'd be willing to pay extra for this feature, LG! In the meantime I purchased a small bluetooth full keyboard that i plugged into one of the USB ports. Works for now but I would prefer to have it all in one convenient remote. Lastly, even though I have a newer surround sound system that supports optical audio, it would be nice to have an analog audio out... for people who have high quality but older sound equipment.
Overall I am very pleased with the purchase of this TV and would recommend it to my friends.
