Strong, easy to use but came with major dents

Got my safe in on Thursday. Upon opening it, it was already locked. I used the factory code and a new user code to try to open it. Nothing. Tried all of the troubleshooting advice: pushed handle up, pulled handle down, pulled handle out, tried talking nice to it, pretended to not care, did the hokey pokey....nothing worked. Do I need the key? Maybe! Where is it though? There was no key in the box. Is the key inside? Did they lock the key inside the safe that I need to get it open in the first place? The world may never know. Now it’s a mildly expensive toe stubbing device in the middle of my living room and is too heavy for me to return. Two stars for the impressive locking skills though!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Safe looks great but I need the factory code

I received this a few days ago but there was no manual in the package. I’m assuming the manual and keys are locked inside. I’m waiting for some one from sentry to contact me with the factory code so I can open the safe and see if the manual and keys are inside. Sentry is closed on the weekends and I received the safe after work on Friday. I will comment on my review once I get things figured out. I also tried to send an email to sentry and it bounced back so not sure what’s going on there. If my review was based off the safes look it would be 5 stars but without being able to open it, I can’t really give 5 starts at this time.

I love this safe because of its quality construction and it ability to protect my important papers and personal items. I use to use a safety deposit box but with their current payment structure I bought this safe for a little over the one year rent for a lock box at the bank and can use it for the rest of my life and with your replacement insurance I have peace of mind. After looking at various home safes and a lot of YouTube reviews, I feel for the money, this safe gives me a piece of mind that my important papers and items are pretty well protected from fire and water. As far as theft, I realize a it would probably only slow down a professional thief. But with it's already hefty weight and by lagging it to the floor with the kit supplied, it would be a chore for the average thief to just take it. I like the addition of a key, for added security, which can be used to disable the combo function. The bottom line is, if you want a theftproof safe, you'll have to pay out a lot more cash than a few hundred to get it. This is a good safe for the average homeowner and I'm very satisfied I got it. Oh, and It was delivered within a few days by UPS.

It’s assumptive about how to set up, And that it’s locked and there are no keys in the box, and no instructions evident to open it until you actually go into the manual and realize you have to place for AAA batteries, and then access a combination lock. Then, to your surprise there a key sitting there. Up until that point you assume you have to call customer service, which would be a waste of time because he feel a little bit dumb. Again, it is an assumptive set up, which could easily benefit from one simple sticker with an image showing placed the batteries in the left side of the sticker, and the rice have a sticker shows the door open you see the keys there. Brilliance! An opportunity.
