I thought the key was a back up, but to find out after purchasing and unpacking, that it was not. Is there a way to gain access if the electronics do not work?

I am nervous about using a digital lock. I wonder how the batteries might not corrode inside the battery compartment. I wonder if the digital key pad will last or malfunction, I probably should of bought a safe with a dial lock, but they are hard to open.............so I will see how this one performs too early to tell.

I needed to upgrade to something larger than the Sentry fireproof box that I've had for years. This safe is a perfect size for my needs. The locking drawer that was included gives me place to put smaller valuables. The purchase of a couple of available adjustable shelves gives me organization of papers/files and other items. Being able to set my own combination is an added plus.
