Aesthetically pleasing

Bought the SoundTouch 300 to replace my Definitive Technolog speaker and Integra system. Replacement was due to moving into a new house with TV above fireplace. Tower speakers would have worked but I had to compromise with my wife. So out with the old and in with the new. While the Bose does not compare to my old system when it comes to sound and power, it is sufficient for the money. I had roughly $4k invested in the old system. To expand the Bose sound I will need to add the sub and virtually invisible speakers. When will the VI speakers be available in white?

Awesome Sound

If you are self-installing, start with patience and breathe. Setup is easy but there is a learning curve with an older tv, which is what I connected to. Be sure to place cables in correct outlet and hook up audio cable to tv as it will not work with the HDMI cable alone. You also need to use the headset provided to calibrate speakers. Download the Bose app on your phone once you have the speakers working. Disconnect the wires and set up Bose WiFi as you need it to keep the speakers updated. Minimalist system with excellent sound. Be aware bass unit is heavy and large. Bar is not as small as it seems in the picture so before ordering please check dimensions of each piece. I initially purchased to use in the bedroom but too big and powerful so switched to living room and discarded my old one. Highly recommended and once fully set up you will be very happy.

Clear Sound Everywhere I listen.

Bose does not miss on this! To note, this review is for the sound bar without the optional optional surround speakers or Acoustimass module.
1) Set up was a little more involved than those I've experienced in the past, and nothing like the others. I did have to access detailed instructions on-line as the unit comes with a quick set-up guide. Set-up uses ADAPTiQ audio calibration where I had to wear an included ADAPTiQ headset equipped with a microphone. I stood in 5 different locations in my great room (10' ceiling) where I will be listening to my TV/music. At each location, the sound bar put out a series of sounds that bounced off the ceiling, walls & furniture to determine the best sound quality for that location. No matter where I sit, I feel like that is the center-point of sound! Not a true surround sound, but definitely dang close.
2) The sound bar is connected to power and to my 4k TV with an HDMI Arc connection. There is a regular HDMI as well as optical wire option. There is no delay in receiving my sound when changing channels or upon un-pausing a program. Another sound bar I have has a few second delay. There is a short delay when turning it on. All of my devices are connected to my TV and fed to the sound bar through the Arc connection.
3) The rubber-backed, universal remote is easy to set up and operates other devices. Codes need to be accessed in the on-line instruction manual. The buttons are pretty small and tight together. Once muscle memory kicks in, they will be easier to use.
SOUND QUALITY. . . Is as expected from Bose! Deep tones, but very clear sound. Even though there was a calibration to my room, the sound is excellent around my great room of approximately 30' x25', but does not produce the true surround effect that additional speakers would provide. Because I do not have the Acoustimass bass module, I do get excessive vibration on my mantle where the sound bar sits due to the fact that the sound bar emits the extra bass. There is a wall-mount kit available that I'm hoping will eliminate that vibration.

I absolutely love this soundbar! I went into this kinda hesitant as I was afraid nothing could meet what I was expecting and honestly this exceeded my expectations!! Great sound, nice features and looks great! The best sound bar by far! Love it!! Theater quality in your living room!

A new level of achievement for Bose!

Bose has really been putting a lot of effort into their research and development lately, and the Sound bar 300 is definitely proof of their hard work! I’m going to break my review down into sections.
1) Packaging and Unboxing: The packaging is very eye-catching and contemporary, with enough details to catch attention. Unboxing the unit is straightforward and simple, with everything protected properly. All items are easily accessible with now chance of anything getting tossed out by accident.
2) Appearance and Build Quality: Wow… Bose has stepped up the game with this beauty! Absolutely beautiful detailing with tempered glass on top and wrap-around metal grill, unibody aluminum frame and user-friendly indicators and aces to all connections. So much attention to detail, which is wonderful. The manuals are easy to follow as well.
3) Set-up: The unit is very easy to set-up and operate. I love that it has a HDMI ARC (Audio Return Chanel) and 4K pass-through for easy hook-up to 4K televisions. There’s also Optical Out if needed. Chances are pretty high that a person purchasing this unit will already have a 4K TV. The remote and onscreen navigation are very user friendly as well, plus the remote can be programmed for other devices. The unit has network connectivity, so be sure to follow the procedure and check for any available updates as soon as possible.
4) Sound Performance: Bose already has a reputation for excellent sound, but this sound bar definitely take things to a higher level. There’s a LOT of new driver technology being used in this unit! The surround effect is amazing and the overall frequency response is beyond the size of the unit… so typical for Bose. You’ll be amazed at the bass response of this unit! Also, there’s a calibration device (AdaptIQ) that can be worn and will calibrate the unit to work flawlessly with your room’s dimensions and acoustical properties. Be sure to re-calibrate if you are lucky enough to also purchase the Acoustimass 300 Subwoofer and the 300 Surround Speakers (both are wireless and a must-have if your budget allows).
Conclusion: Please do yourself a favor and give this unit a listen if you’re in the market for a fantastic sound bar! The price may seem high, but the build and technology is worth every penny. Again, if budget allows, consider adding the subwoofer and surround speaker… they will provide the complete theater experience. I would also suggest doing some research on YouTube and Bose.com for photos and technological details. It’s good to see that Bose is not only maintaining quality, but striving to move their products into a higher realm. Kudos for a job well done!

Bought the sound bar, bass and rear speakers, transformed my house into a theater experience even with watch TV. Music feature is out of 10th his world!

Amazing Sound

We bought the Soundtouch 300 a couple of weeks ago and have been thrilled and amazed with it since we got it. The set up was simple and easy, and the sound is amazing. One of our favorite things is that we can actually hear what people are saying during movies instead of being inundated with music. I'm a musician and I love music but I also love the fact this system balances both music and spoken word during movies perfectly. The only issue we have is the remote is very sensitive and needs to be pointed right at the sound bar otherwise it doesn't seem to pick up what your asking of it. With that said we were able to combine all of our remotes down to the universal remote, which has been wonderful. The only other issue I have is I love Apple products (and this may be more of an Apple problem) but I can't utilize my Apple Music with the sound touch features. Essentially I have to connect through bluetooth instead of WiFi. Great product and extremely happy with all of my Bose products!

Amazing quality

I have been using my Soundbar for a couple weeks now. We had been downsizing from moves & was looking for a simple system that would still provide quality sound. This is perfect. The bar was just the right size to tuck into our media center, so it doesn't distract from the room décor. Setup was quick & painless. Within 30 minutes, I had the system connected to the TV and also the Bluetooth on my phone. Once it was hooked up, all we had to do is turn on the TV & the Bose started right up without turning on another device.
I love connecting my music on my cell to the Bluetooth. The sound resonates and fills the room. Regardless of the genre I am listening to, you can clearly hear the different tones. Even when songs play through only one side, you can hear it bouncing around the room. Watching movies is no different. I enjoy a good explosion, and the sound quality does not disappoint.
