Bad product decision: a single HDMI input
on January 16, 2017

The system requires the TV set to act as a 'mixer'. So if you, as many of us do, have multiple devices with HDMI outputs, you need to get all wires to a TV set. If your TV set is on your wall, you'll have all these wires hanging out, from various places on your TV. Why, BOSE product managers, why to do this? Instead of having all HDMI cables going neatly within a cabinet from such devices to the BOSE acting as a mixer, and having a single HDMI cable to the TV set. This is such a bad decision, and a show-stopper for me.

Great Sound, but ...

Bought this to plug into my new Samsung 4K TV. Instructions say to use the HDMI ARC connection, too bad it doesn't work. My TV thinks this is an input device on HDMI 4. Messed around with it for several hours before I gave up and plugged in the optical cable. It sounds great but I wish I could use the HDMI ARC. Also, I wish the remote would turn on the sound bar, TV and cable box with a single press of the power button instead of turning on each item separately.

Horrible

Bought the soundbar a week ago. Ran Adaptiq etc. Connected the subwoofer. Dared to try and run the subwoofer remotely. Dared to try using the ARC HDMI connection. Every element of every bad review I've read on this product occurred simultaneously after attempting the wireless setup. Given the fact that I've been buying Bose products since the 90s and am usually the one who sets up my friends' relatives' systems, pretty sure it isn't user error. Running digital optical cable until I return this nightmare product for something that works.

One HDMI?!?!?!?!

I'm generally a big Bose fan, I've been using their products for years, but they keep on making silly decisions which tells me there is a disconnect between product research (what customers want) and the final product. Enough of the touting sound quality, now its time to refine and think about what make a product more usable. Putting one HDMI in this solution makes it inconvenient to use it in my other rooms where I need to provide a switching element. Please think more about about adding inputs, some of my rooms have many devices and I would like to simplify the amount of devices I need to provide output to my TV.

Do Not Buy One!

I own many Bose products and the sound quality is fantastic. Computer speakers, band P.A. speakers and home audio speakers. I have them all and I love them. But Bose is CLUELESS when to comes to wireless technology. The App doesn't work, or the speakers won't connect to the network, or the App won't find the speakers. You name it, the problem is there. When they work, they sound great. But my idea is that you should be able to reliably listen to music when you want. If that's your goal, skip these.

I ended up buying the Soundbar and wireless subwoofer for my man cave. I have to say the subwoofer makes the system. You really feel the bass during movies and music with no distortion. I am amazed at what Bose has been able to do.
Highly recommended!

Needs work

I received the SoundTouch 300 Soundbar as a Christmas present and was super excited. When it works, the sounds is great. Unfortunately, it only works about every third time I turn it on. The app can't find it half the time, and I end up spending 30 minutes troubleshooting and trying to reconnect. It is a major pain. This is not what I expect from Bose (I've had Wave Music systems for at least 12 years). I cringe at the thought of my brother asking me how I'm enjoying his gift!
