Useless for surround sound system

Purchased this with Virtually Invisible 300 speakers to set up a surround system at home. Totally impossible to do, the SoundTouch 300 would not connect to the speakers and hold connection. Speakers only produced weak, spotty sound. Connection was often dropped. After 6 hours of trying I was never able to successfully connect and never could hear anything from them. Setup was very slow and confusing. I tried to reset to defaults but after 45 minutes status lights were still blinking. Never reset. Just gave up. The SoundTouch sound is quite good itself but it is useless as part of a surround sound setup. It would often start playing Internet radio from the app even with the app closed. Happened often can't figure this out either. I had hoped to call technical support but close early in the evening. Good as a stand alone sound bar but useless as part of a system.

Sounds great when it works. If you connect through HDMI-ARC, you will have connectivity problems and waste a lot of time resetting and reconnecting the system. Despite indications to the contrary, this issue is still not fixed. Just check Bose's own product boards.

Awesome sound when it works

I bought this a week ago. I have constant audio drop for periods of time. This is not the worst. Occasionally, it will make this screech sound, sometimes above 85 or 90 dB. I am surprised the speaker has not blown. Maybe it has and I just do not know about it yet. The sub constantly disconnects. I am narrowing this down to a possible relationship between sub disconnecting, sound loss, screech sound.

Life Changing Sound, Unobtrusive Device

Bose thought of everything with this product. The sound is amazing, lots of depth, volume and texture. It is so thin and unobtrusive it will work in any space. Set up is relatively simple and operation is intuitive. This is the device I've been waiting for and it is beyond all expectations.

Very Impressive Speaker

I will say I was very skeptical at first, I had tried three other soundbars and they were horrible. So I had just accepted that I was going to have to keep the big speakers and receiver if I wanted good sound. When I found the SoundTouch 300, I was a little shocked at the price, but I figured if it could do what none of the others could do, then it would be worth it. After setting it up and turning on my music, I was absolutely sold! The music sounded better coming from this little bar than it did coming out of the big speakers. I am very happy with this purchase.

Totally disappointed with this Sound Bar!

I bought this sound bar, base unit and cubes right before Christmas and have had nothing but trouble since. The sound bar will not stay connected to the wifi/TV and I'm so frustrated with this system right now I could throw it out the window! I certainly expected a lot more from Bose given my previous experience and the price of this system. I had an acustamast cube system for nearly 20 years and it worked liked a dream. Bose had better solve their issues with this sound bar or I'm going to have to consider a different sound system/brand.
