Beautiful fridge! Doors need to open wider.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just got our fridge! Gorgeous! Only downfall is that the doors don’t open as far as we’d like. And the left door opens wider than the right one. Narrow space to reach into compared to our last LG model. Could be all the compartments in the doors that do that.

Great features, poor reliability

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have owned this fridge for just under 3 years and have enjoyed the features and functionalities. We have been extremely disappointed in both the reliability of the refrigerator and the service model of LG.
The refrigerator and freezer stoop cooling entirely as a result of the condenser completely failing. We found that 3rd party repair services cannot service LG refrigerators allegedly because they make their own parts so we reached out to LG for support.
They sent someone out to replace the cooling components but could not do so for almost 3 weeks. What do people do for fresh foods without refrigeration for 3 weeks and young kids? In addition, once the repair technician came on-site he informed me that this happens with most LG refrigerators.
We considered this to be a relatively high-end refrigerator, which has increased our disappointment.
I wouldn’t recommend buying LG refrigerators until they improve the core components of their product and alter their repair/service model. They make great TVs, and should stick to that.

Excellent fridge.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our families first French door fridge. It is much more practical regarding item placement and retrieval vs a side by side fridge. Currenty stockings fridgeries on top of each other is extremely rare, unlike our older side by side fridge stacking things in the fridge was common practice. I also enjoy LGs app. One can see fridge use and efficiency very easily. It even tracks door openings and can be set on vacation mode to save with electricity consumption, very neat. I prefer the studio line due to the displayed fridge information. It is more intuitive and I personally thinks it looks nicer. Over all excellent fridge. I do have some gripes though. For instance water and ice will not dispense if the fridges smaller instaview door is opened. So if you have multiple fridge users they may be able to see what they want while you are filling a glass of water or ice but will not be able to obtain objects of interest until you are finished. The water also seems to lose its coolness rather quickly. Usually only providing one full glass of cool water before getting warm? Ice is fantastic and has never let us down despite its smaller storage bin within the door. Because of the area of the ice tray now users are left with smaller shelves that do not fit most items. Again we are a multiple fridge user household with larger sized condiments so this might be why. On the instaview side shelf heights are unable to be adjusted. The shelves are deep and large but taller objects will not fit. I yet have to find something this fridge can't store past it's doors. The freezer is very well designed. We did have an incident where the door was closed but not closed all the way due to items getting in the way of the smaller shelving. This resulted in the fridge registering the door as closed and not alarming while losing cool air. Live and learn it has never happened again, this was discovered by a guest by the way. Despite the loss of cool air during the night the fridge still maintained it's freezing abilities with very minimal objects becoming slightly thawed. I am happy with the performance of the fridge and it's design. Mechanically the compressor is quiet with no issues. Cosmetically the black steel paint will not scratch easily but will chip. Overall happy with this product and hoping its longevity is as good as its design aesthetics.

I rarely write reviews, but I simply love this purchase. I love the door within a door feature, the slim line ice maker, and the multilayered drawers in both the frig and freezer. As an added bonus, when my designer friend came over she immediately noted how sleek it looked and loved the squared vs rounded edges! Love, love, love it!!!

Terrible support right out of the gate

2 months in, the outer door quit latching. Knew I was in trouble as soon as I contacted LG support. First sent me an email telling me how to open and close a door. Their service is contracted out to 1 star, "Avoid at all cost!" reviewed repair outfits. Most companies get at least a few positive reviews...not the ones LG uses. Had to call numerous times to try and schedule a repair with an LG authorized repair service that didn't get unbelievably horrific reviews. Still trying to get it straightened out.

Love the fridge but not the support

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this fridge! I did not think I would use the door in door as much, but now I use this feature all the time and could not live without it! The design looks great in the kitchen. We do have a significant problem, however, with the cooling/thermostat. If we are away for a week or more, the food is frozen when we get home. Then adjusting the temperature up, the fridge gets too warm. Even after 6 months of use, we still cannot get a stable cold temperature - either it is too warm, or food is frozen. Another significant problem is the lack of support from LG. We had damage to a door handle, and ordered a new one - they managed to send us the wrong replacement handle five(!) times. In the end we had to return the entire fridge for a new one, just to get a new handle...go figure.

Fridge/Freezer totally down.

I bought this refrigerator 1 year and 3 months ago. This is the second time in 2 months that the refrigerator and the freezer went down. I had to throw my food out and go out and buy a compact refrigerator due to service cannot come until next week. It is very obvious this this item is definitely defected I purchased this product because I thought it would be reliable.
