GOOD CLARITY

The new Defender HD 1080p has more options than the older one and the representative Suzanne Krause was very patient in explaining how to set it up and helped me setting up my iphone to monitor the cameras. I would recommend this product.

Solid, but software isn't great

Had to upgrade SD to the HD unit due to a nearby lightning strike. The software works, but the menu always has to be logged into, that needs an option to stay logged in. the remote is a bit clunky, so using it kind of sucks. the replay menu is terrible, it's hard to switch between cameras, or get to 1 camera vs another, and get it full screen, honestly it's a step backwards from the older SD unit.

I had trouble getting the cameras live feed from the app without wifi however Suzanne from customer service was able to help me as well as fix the issue. I am still experiencing some lagging from actual time to live feed footage but they are working on that as well very helpful and responsive. also when i try to view in hd quality it makes the lagging even worse otherwise would reccommend.

Much better than previous version

We bought this DVR to replace a previous model, that worked only intermittently. The TCP/IP configuration was similar to the previous model. The software for the new model works well, including on cell phones, which is a big improvement. The device fulfills its functions well.
