Purchased this for a hero 10 to use with the purple panda mic. Tested every possible solution that I could find online with no luck and it did not work. I only get white noise with this plugged in.

Thanks for the insight. The Mic Adapter is to be connected through the Media Mod, and the Media Mod is not compatible with HERO5. It's compatible with HERO10 and HERO9 cameras.

I agree with the comments about the block connector, the cable needs to be longer so it’s not in the way. Or an adapter that holds the block next t or attached to the camera. Sadly my experience is not good, using the Hero 9 and connecting it up I get a horrendous high pitched squealing feedback tone. No has come up with why or how to cancel or neutralise the noise

Another bad product

Half my videos didn't have audio, because the adapter had such poor connections. I have hours of lost footage because the external mic adapter was not functioning despite being plugged in and checked (REPEATEDLY). It might work and it might not, which is unacceptable for any camera and equipment. It's also very large and cumbersome which defeats the whole purpose of a small action cam. Ignore this warning at your own peril-You WILL be disappointed. Find a better option, they are certainly out there.

Didn't last even a year, stopped working after a few months of usage. It's was hard to find and get at the time.

Hooked up my dji mic onto my gopro hero9 with this adapter and it works and sounds great. I think it is expensive for what it is but not alot of options

I use in aviation and needs the dongle cord to be about 3ft longer to avoid having it dangle in front of passengers. The USB standard allows proprietary direct connect devices so a standard USB extension cable won't work. I had to build one after buying a second device and reverse engineering the USB pinout. GoPro support understood but had no interest in helping.
