I really hope your guys are listening to your consumers and already have a redesign in the works. This thing makes a whole of sense if you plan on being stationary, but that pretty much defeats the purpose of an action camera. Please come up with a more simple helmet friendly option. The last adaptors were perfect. Put a USB-C on the end of it and call it a day. Problem solved, problem staying solved.

So I was planning to purchase either a Hero 5 Black or Hero 5 Session to start doing some small moto vlogs, but I'm holding off for now. What I don't need is a gigantic extra block that I need to stuff into my helmet somewhere, when all I want to do is use an external mic to capture my voice while riding. I can see where having the through USB port might be useful for people, but it just won't do for my intended use. I look to gopro for compact setups, not this. So this is the reason I've not bought a Hero 5. Well, that and the fact that third party adapters the right size apparently don't work. I'll probably get one if I can either get a reasonably sized adapter from gopro or one that works from a third party. Assuming I've not just bought another camera in the mean time.

Its a little big but it does the job very well, I use it in the car as a Dashcam so the size is not a big deal for me.

I really like this mic adapter. A lot of people are complaining about its bulk but for my use its fine. I like the pass through so I can charge/or add external battery while recording.

Does it really need to be this big? There should be a much simpler USB-C to 3.5 adaptor without the need for a huge box.

I have really enjoyed everything I have bought that is GoPro. Wasn't sure at first but picture, quality, and sound has not let me down yet. Would recommend to anyone looking for a very multifunctional camera. As for the adapter. It works exactly as advertised. Perfect!!!
