My intention was to have an external microphone so I could use the GoPro as a helmet camera. It's working but clunky and the quality of the audio is poor in the wind.

I finally decided to buy a GoPro for recording while riding. Just to realize that to have a microphone on it I need that huge adaptor?? I'll probably return the camera since it does not make sense to have to attach that brick with the camera.
Why there's an option in the camera preferences to sync with Bluetooth devices but it cannot recognize any Bluetooth devices???

If you expect 100% audio for your video, look elsewhere.

Well, this is sounds fantastic when it works but when recording it will randomly drop the audio. Also, if you use the charging port sometimes you will have electrical noise in your audio. Since I'm using it to record live sermons there is no going back and doing a retake. So it's a complete loss for that video. Tried getting support, been in queue on phone and online chat for over 55 minutes. If you want to have audio you are better off getting a Zoom and recording the audio separately b/c this will only frustrate and disappoint you. Either that or just buy a different camera (non-GoPro) that actually can record audio consistently (wish I had).

Wasted my money on this because I can't use it with my go pro. You changed the adapter and made the old one unavailable so people have to buy your new model. Not cool. Switching to another company's product.

I use this mic when I'm flying so you can hear the radios on the gopro footage. My old setup with the Hero4 Black and 3.5 adapter worked great. This one has terrible quality, and goes in and out all the time. Not sure if I just got a defective unit or what...

Too dang large

It's very frustrating that you are forced to use this massive hunk of cabling to try to get decent audio out of your tiny sports cam. The cable is so thick that bending it is also a pain when I am trying to strap it to the camera. This whole setup is turning out to be a massive pain. I think I am going back to my Hero4 set up.

Does what it's designed to do but way too bulky. Seriously an adapter shouldn't be as big as the GoPro itself. And way too expensive for what it is. I can do without the USB C port. I just want better audio.
