Who decided to make this!??!

I understand you want to control the market so only your overpriced proprietary accessories work but at least concentrate on the last part THAT THEY WORK!!
This thing works 20% of the time since and not to mention that the USB-C connector has to be aligned with the stars for it to work and for you not to come home and only to realize there is no audio!!!

Very bad design

- Expensive
- Nearly as big as the camera itself! -> buy so duck tape to attach it and end-up with a bulky and clumsy set-up.
- Must be connected directly to the camera. YOU WON'T GET AUDIO IF YOU USE AN USB-C EXTENDER CORD!
The only good feature that it allows you to have audio input AND power it at the same time. I was hoping to put it away from the camera, using a single USB extender cord to feed both power and audio in my plane cockpit. No chance for this elegant solution. I have to attach the adapter to the camera and run TWO cables through the cockpit.
Conclusion: a bad and expensive design. Very disappointed.

Product does as promised although it's kind of bulky for such a small camera. Also a bit expensive. Hope them come up with something different for the next GoPro model.

I understand the strategy to hinder third parties cashcowing with gopro utilities. But hindering third parties with creating wireless microphone solutions whilest NOT delivering a gopro wireless microphone solution on thier own hand makes me wonder if any of gopro's super duper strategic professionals understand their own product or what they have to deliver if hindering third party participation. Next 'innovation' is probably a one sqare meter cart to carry your mounts for your gopro hero 5 with you... extremely fitting the general idea of a action cam

Gopro's are small. They're meant to be. They fit on my helmet beautifully. Why do I have to have this huge brick strapped to my face in order to plug in an external mic?
I mean, come on! I want a direct plug-in mic! We all do!

No Mount for Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter

It would be awesome if you provided a mount to hold the Mic Adapter. I've created my own with 1/4-20 female above and below mount giving the flexibility to install as needed.
Rating the Mic Adapter without considering a mount, will have to give it a 5-star. That drops without the support of a ready made mount.

Its Big, way too big!

It does what it is supposed to do. It does pull out too easily, but itdoes what it is supposed to do.
I tried using it with my GoPro Karma Grip, and it did not work.
Is there a patch that will make it work???
