Pro 3.5 mm Mic Adapter

Although the mic adapter allows for much higher quality sound. The size and weight are problematic. When using it in the field the USB connector can work itself loose as the inertia on the adapter puts stress on the connector pulling it out of the jack on the camera.
I have secured the mic to the GoPro handle accessory, but have not found a viable method to secure the adapter to prevent the connector from pulling loose?

Maybe I don’t know how to use it, but I plugged it in and plugged a lavalier mic to it, and it didn’t record audio. I’m disappointed.

This mic adapter is a must have....its FANTASTIC! There are settings inside your gopro to select the perfect mic and with this adapter it's all possible. I like to use the gopro for travel and video logs in addition to action...so when we are traveling or "vlogging" we use this mic and we couldn't be happier!

Discovering this is required for external audio such as a lapel mic in motorbike helmet means I won't be buying Hero5 or Hero6.
Competitor Yi include an adapter with the camera. If this were included free it's still a ridiculous bulky thing with no obvious way to hold it in place without stressing the connection.
It doesn't even deserve one star, it should be minus 5 stars as I won't buy the camera let alone this garbage to weigh down one side of it.
The solution is probably bluetooth based but gopro will no doubt have their own weird system which costs half as much as the camera.

no funciona bien, el micro se desconecta la segunda vez que sea enciende la cámara y no graba audio, Cable corto para montar en casco. Dimensiones muy grande y molesto, pero sobre todo NO FUNCIONA BIEN. Es un timo !!!

Works great, but size and design could be worked on. It's akward and clunky. Makes my videos sound 100x better though.
