Just go ahead and buy 2 or 3

I tried to make sure I did not lose it. I put it up in a safe place in bag and I still lost it. If you are using the Karma Grip or drone you will have to take it off to use and you will lose that little little door. So I purchased 2 just to keep on in my camera bag and in my Karma Grip case.

Even though I have a Grip I don't take my door on and off very regularly. The way it snaps in and out has always made me a little nervous because of the small plastic piece that holds it to the hinge. So it was not really a surprise when it snapped off. The replacement door was a bit pricey IMO, especially given the design, but I paid it because what else am I going to do? It did fit perfectly... no issues there.
In the meantime I found that the door will stay on and secured and waterproof without the little hinge piece in place... that's not actually what holds it on when it's closed. So I kept the broken door as a back up in case something happens.

Quick and easy is the best way to describe getting a replacement part fro GoPro. Ordered online and within a few days the new part was back on my camera hassle free.

I do not know, I buy Hero 5 thinking about the build quality, but on the first load and I've never used it and now it breaks this part! Too bad for GoPro!
