The only heater you'll ever need!

i bought this heater two years ago and have used it almost every day since i got it. i have central heating and cooling but nothing beats the coziness of a space heater. i know vornado doesn't recommend it, but i hate a cold bathroom so i always have it on low in my bathroom with the thermostat set just to where it maintains a little warmth. when i first walk in, the heater has kept the cold cut out so the initial "cold bathroom shock" is not there. when i'm in the bathroom getting ready, showering, or bathing.. ive got this baby set to deep fry and the sauna it creates is fantastic. it'll get real hot in there if you hang out long enough. when i'm cooking in the kitchen i bring it along with me and keep it on low with the thermostat cranked so it stays on and it creates the perfect amount of warmth throughout the kitchen, dining room, and living room. my house has an open floor plan and is 1600 sq ft. I don't know how it does it, but it manages to cut the chill out of all that space. earlier i mentioned that i leave it on all night unattended in the bathroom to keep the chill out. i know vornado explicitly tells us not to do this but over the last two years i have grown to trust this heater greatly if it's set to the low setting (high will warm the outlet up if it runs for too long). if it tilts too much.. off. if it over heats (this only happened once because the intake was dirty), it will turn off and WILL NOT turn back on until you unplug it for at least 5 minutes. love love love that. safety is a huge thing for me with heaters and this delivers. 10/10 would buy again if mine ever dies. i feel as though it won't because i've never had a space heater last so long. good job vornado, always loved your products and glad to have one that keeps me warm and safe.

We got this for a large bathroom that gets cold in the winter. Turn it on when you get up in the morning and then the after shower shock of the room is a lot more manageable. I like the simple look and the none digital screen. I feel like this heater will last a lot longer them other more modern looking ones. No screen to break, just on off and adjustable heat. that's all I need and want. Hopefully the last one I need for a while.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Firstly, I would like to comment on how well this unit was packaged. Just wow! I wish there was an area where I could post a picture. Right off the bat you could tell this was going to be a quality product. After unpacking the unit and reading the simple instructions and safety features (love the tip-over shut-off and stay-cool exterior), we gave the cute little unit its first test. Our eat-in kitchen area is mostly floor to ceiling windows on three walls and tends to get chilly. My daughter already uses a heater there when she eats breakfast on cold, dark mornings, so this is where we first tried it. We liked the fact that it heated up quickly and was quiet. However, she is used to her oscillating heater since it gives her the sensation that the air is moving around. I tried to explain the concept behind the Vornado heater to her (that it heats the whole room without creating hot spots), but she didn't seem convinced. I, on the other hand, could feel that the whole room was comfortably heated in all areas. My husband took the heater to our cabin in northern Michigan and tried it in our unfinished, unheated basement. When it gets cold down there, it tends to make the floors above cold as well. He said that it did a great job heating the whole basement, although he wasn't sure if it helped any heating the floors upstairs since he had a fire going in the fireplace. Our back bedrooms and hallway in the cabin (furthest from the fireplace) tend to get chilly in the winter, so we placed the heater in the hallway between both bedrooms and it did an excellent job of heating the entire area. Since we already have two heaters at home (one that aforementioned daughter won't part with), I think we will be leaving the Vornado at the cabin since that seems where it will be most useful to us. A couple of side notes would be the easy-to-grasp handle and cord storage. The overall design is sleek and either matches or blends into most decors. Quality product!

Extremely Pleased with Product and Service

Ok, i'm writing this after purchasing a version of this model roughly 2 years ago. The unit we initially purchased worked very well in our 40' motorhome. This is very important to us as we are full-time RV'ers and desired an easy compact supplement to our propane fired space heater and A/C Heat pump. After two years the unit clearly was having problems. For a 2 or 3 days it would run...then quit. Finally, it just stopped working. I checked to see what i could do to revive the unit, but could not. It occurred to me to call Vornado Customer Service and see what else i could do. Now THIS is the part i hope you're reading. First i was put in very quickly (2-3 minutes) put in contact with technical service. I believe based on his speech this person was an American native English speaker (stick with me here). We very briefly discussed my issues and what i'd done. I was asked for the model number and serial number of the unit. I was then told to send a reply to an email from the tech with a picture of unit's ID plate and another of the unit with the cord cut off. When that was recieved by the tech, he told me he would authorize sending me a replacment unit (the entire heater) free of charge via UPS. I recieved the unit about a week later (over the Veterans Day weekend). I am TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY by this kind of support which i have to say is pretty near unheard of anymore. The new heater works well and heats our entire motorhome, probably about 350 sq ft with slides out. I cannot be more pleased and highly recommend not only this product but the Vornado company as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The very first thing you see when you open the box is a message saying, WE EXPECT THIS PRODUCT TO BE PERFECT. IF IT IS NOT WE WILL MAKE IT RIGHT, followed by their phone number and web address. Well let me tell you, this unit operated perfectly right out of the box. All of their sales material is spot on - case stays cool to the touch, and it heats an entire room quickly, evenly, and keeps it warm. It's quiet, it's safe (has auto tip over shutoff) and it does the job! It takes a little playing with the thermostat to get it at the temp where you'll be comfortable, but once you do, this little powerhouse will keep you warm.....and smiling! Handle on top for easy moving, and the cord stores in the back when not in use. I started out trying this in my living room to put it to the test. Turned down my thermostat and the Vornado heater went to work. The temp in my living room never dropped, even though I had turned my thermostat down 5 degrees! I would highly recommend the Vornado to anyone! I live in a cold climate and believe me I will be using this heater all winter, and can't wait to see what it saves on my heating bill.
