Perfect and portable heater!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Vornado heater is very easy to use! It is lightweight and portable. The heater turns off if it's not on level ground or if it is going to fall over. Unlike another heater I've tried (the Presto Heat Dish), this heater does not emit a loud, ear-splitting sound when that happens. It just quietly turns off - which I definitely prefer! I found the heater to be very safe to use because of these features. The Vornado heater has many settings so you can adjust the temperature very precisely. Even on the strongest setting, it is still very quiet. Yet, it is powerful and warms the area quickly. I would not recommend replacing your home heating system with the Vornado heater, but it is great for cold days and nights! Perfect for watching TV on the couch and staying warm. I would definitely recommend the Vornado heater to anyone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I work in a basement office in my house. It has a concrete floor and is open to the rest of the basement. It's cold in the winter and I hate to use the furnace to heat it. The Vornado does a really good job of heating the whole room to 70 degrees without the noise some electric heaters with fans have. Except for the smell for the first couple of days, I have no complaints and recommend this heater for heating a room or workshop. As a matter of fact, my husband was so impressed that he's getting one for his workshop in the garage. We haven't noticed a spike in our electric bill and have been running the heater most days. I'd recommend running the heater for a day or two in an unused space to burn off the smell before putting it into a room that you're using. Other than that, it's the perfect heater to keep this Mainer warm all winter while saving on our oil bill.
Pros: Good Power Output, Heats the Whole Room, Quiet, Safe
Cons: Plastic smell when first used but fades

You can't even hear it. It heats up my basement in record time. I no longer have to freeze while ironing and doing laundry . I am thrilled with this heater and love it.

Works Well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in a decent size two bedroom apartment and I have an enclosed terrace. I set up the terrace as a playroom, but it doesn't have the heating that's in the rest of the apartment. I've been looking for a heater that would be safe and yet heat the room so that my son could use it year round. What I like about the heater is that it is very stable (won't tip over easily), but even if it does, it will shut itself off. It doesn't get hot to the touch, so if my son accidentally touches it, I don't have to worry about him getting burned. It does the job and heats the room effectively. I like that the controls are easy to figure out - very visual. That makes it easy for my son to use on his own (he is 13, so able to turn this on and off when he uses the terrace). I've heard of the Vornado brand before, but I've never had one. I'm looking forward to using this for many years to come.

Not good for large rooms

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We first used this in our office space which is a smaller room and it kept the room warm but not as warm as other heaters we typically use in that room. It seems to take a longer time to heat a room compared to other heaters we have used in the past. I then tried it in our living room and noticed that it took awhile to heat up & even with sitting near it it still didn't feel that warm and that was on the highest temperature setting. Benefits of the heater is that it is very quiet and doesn't make a lot of noise. This would be good in very small rooms but nothing larger.
Pros: Quiet
Cons: Lacks Power, Low Heat Output
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Quiet and effective

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First the pros: The heater comes with a place underneath to wrap the cord for storage, which I love. Also, I use a space heater pretty often while watching TV. My current heater forces me to increase the TV volume significantly when it's on just to hear reasonable well, no such issue with this heater as you barely hear it. I also like the multiple heat and fan settings, I think it gives you ample choices for how warm you want it to be. Now the cons: Only one really, the fan runs pretty low so it doesn't feel as warm as some other heaters. Although leaving the room and coming back you can certainly tell it's warming the room nicely, you will never have that "warm breeze" feel you get from some other heaters. In my opinion it's worth the trade off for the quiet.

This is the second heater fan if you will review my purchase-history. I am using this but the kill-switch on the both is irritating, not as good as a "fan" either. I use this under my desk at my office and the last one I angled up by 15 degrees, so have had to reg-the-switch. I hope this one last longer than my last one.

Nice relief from a turn in the weather

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product the same day that the gas company had to temporarily shut off my heat - and the first really cold week in my city. Needless to say, it was a big relief to get this box in the mail! The unit has been sitting under my desk keeping me warm while I wait for the heat to get turned back on. As a personal space heater, this has really done the job - under my desk or on a table close to me, I've been kept toasty warm. It doesn't have quite the reach I expected - set up on a table 10 feet away, I couldn't feel it all that much. However, it might do a good job warming up a small room over time; I have a loft, so it's not going to be able to compete with my huge open rooms and high ceilings! The safety features are really nice on this unit - it has a sensor to detect when it is off-balance or on its side, and will not operate those conditions. The unit also has a temperature dial and a high/low switch, which provides nice customization when used at close range.
Pros: Compact, Easy To Use, Multiple Settings, safety features
Cons: Does not reach far
