It’s hard to assemble properly—the bottom of the blender leaked my protein shake all over until I screwed it on tighter. The blades don’t pulverize frozen bananas well enough on any setting, so I’m always left with lumps on the shake, or the motor isn’t powerful enough to drive the blades. My cheap plastic Oster blender went through frozen fruit in a shake perfectly. There’s something lacking with this Cuisinart blender. Haven’t tried the food processor yet. Not having great expectations, but I like the way the combo set looks. Good concept, duo containers, just poor performance.
Blender struggled to make a smoothie. Stopped working several times and had to be unplugged to restart. It is extremely noisy sounds like it is tearing itself apart. The food processor does not accept accessories from older processor. Very disappointed in the quality and performance. Our previous appliances lasted over 10 years. Only bought new because we could not get parts.
It is powerful but with just a little food and water, the motor was so powerful that it produced a burnt odor and the food didn't smell as fresh as I would have like it to. It has great potential and is a beautiful blender with a strong build, but I had that bad experience on the first try. It was disturbing! You must read the whole brochure and never put a little food, the booklet tells you, for such high power.
I love my new Cuisinart for several reasons, but most of all because it is two of my favorite appliances rolled into one. I use my blender for shakes quite often but I also use the food processor with some frequency. These fit on my counter easily and are readily accessible. What more could I want?
