Works consistently Well

Pros: 1. Easy Setup, 2. Allows everyone in our family of five to easily cast to the device. 3. allows our home theater to become part of a speaker group.
Cons: Occasionally loses its connection to the internet and will not rejoin without a complete reset.
I would recommend this to a friend!

doesnt stay connected to wifi, seems like it over heats and just quits connecting to everything. ive never had this problem with my roku i think im going to throw away the chromecast ultra its kind of useless this thing was a waste of money

Have one - works great. THe second one never worked out of the box, Goole did nothing. Buy Apple Tv instead!

Failed after 2 years

This is/was my second Chromecast device. Like others have said, the app to set up/manage the device is clunky and awkward, but it works. After about a year I found I had to reset the device periodically (about once a month) as it would stop streaming or the sound would begin to fade out. Eventually a reboot no longer worked and the sound volume degraded to barely audible levels. Replaced the ultra with the old Chromecasat I had and I'm now able to hear my shows as well as see them.
At this point I'm not sure what I will replace it with.
