Poor Quality Products

Each of the four appliances we purchased came with flaws scratchiest and dents. The company felt that was acceptable for brand new purchases. This is not the way we think business should be done. Yes they work but the cosmetics is disgraceful. Would not buy another GE Profile appliance

Nice bright light in a dark corner of the kitchen.

The light has three brightnesses. The brightest lights up our darkish corner in the kitchen where my cooktop is. The fan also has three speeds which works great. When the smoke alarm came on during broiling, we turned it to high (it was pretty loud!) and it took care of the fumes and the sound in short order! It is sleek, attractive and effective for our needs.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Pretty decent hood - replaces older GE unit

A decent hood. Was a bit of a pain to install (did it myself) but got it in place. The structure of the unit looks a bit more "cheap sheet metal" look than we would like, not quite the fancy look we had anticipated. However it is better looking than the old GE Profile hood it replaced. The fan can get loud on the High setting - only three settings rather than the continuosly variable of the old. Same with light setting.
Price was higher than I expected for the "content" of the unit: metal-work, fan and ducting. Some electronics, touch panel, and LED's, but still ...
One very nominal issue: at 5 inches height, it is a bit less than the old hood (7" inches). So, we need to repair some paint work on the shelves to the sides just below the hood.
The filters are dishwasher washable, which is a nice plus. And the LED bulbs should last a lot longer than the older incandescent style - they are also "outside" the grease air flow so will not get as grimy as the older unit..
I would recommend this to a friend!

Noisy on high speed

Does the job in sucking out odor and steam, but noisy on medium and high speeds.

This unit was installed by the builder and it supposed to vent outside but it keeps blowing outside and partially inside. I've had 2 service visits and they can't fix the problem. What is it with the design of this unit?
