Short life

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love Bosch products and this microwave, but very disappointed that it shorted out after 5 years in a lightly used vacation property

Sparks are flying !!

After less than 2 years , the wheels on the rotating platter are worn out and loose causing sparks ( as it touches and scatches ) the oven floor when in Microwave mode. Obviously not covered via warranty. For the price of this unit I was expecting top quality... shame on you Bosh for selling such a low quality product at thris price. Do the right thing and listen to all the bad reviews about this unit.

Replacing (with a different brand)...

We've struggled with this unit (chosen and installed by the developer of our condo building) for over 2 years. The temperature under convection is generally 75 degrees less than the setting. The microwave takes twice as long as expected for a 1000W for some items and not for others. Enough... I'm done.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very happy with Bosch 500 Series Speed Oven

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bosch 500 Series Speed Oven was the ideal solution to reclaiming valuable counter space in our modestly sized kitchen. Our mid-century galley style kitchen had a microwave oven taking up counter space next to the refrigerator. Also, the vintage cabinets in the kitchen require smaller 24” appliances. When it came time to replace our old GE double ovens the Bosch 500 Series Speed Oven gave us a built-in microwave and convection oven that fit perfectly into the old oven opening, freeing up about three square feet of counter space! The Speed Oven has a host of functions, comes with detailed instructions, and operates more quietly than the old microwave. We’re very happy with our new Bosch 500 Series Speed Oven.

two weeks after warranty ran out it started making a horrible 'ratching' sound as the turntable turned ... then the plastic gizmo that held the turntable broke - so no turning. My custom kitchen was designed around this 24" built-in appliance. No I'm stuck with having to buy another?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Was excited to order a Bosch 500 series oven and matching microwave, but the display on my oven is red and the display on the microwave is blue. Why would you have items in the same series with different colored displays?
