My 1989 home's 27 inch Kenmore double oven started to experience electrical control panel problems early this year The 2 costly repairs prompted our decision to buy a new unit.We researched an replacement oven on the Consumer Reports website and followed their testing findings and recommended advise. The Whirlpool Gold? 27 inch 8.6 cu. ft. Double Wall Oven with True Convection Cooking was our smart choice!

We purchased these ovens last spring for our winter home, so I haven't had a chance to get fully acquainted with them yet. They are quite handsome and look great in our kitchen. I seem to be having a few issues with overbaking or underbaking so I guess it might be that I need to adjust the temperature. My main issue, however, is that I have vision problems and the black background with the blue read outs is extremely hard for me to see. I definitely need something much brighter. I didn't realize that at time of purchase.

My wife wanted to upgrade from our 20 year GE Hotpoint. We have the electric unit and the blower is someone noise and it takes a while to cool down after cooking.Looks good bring new look to kitchen.

I love the aesthetic features, good quality stainless steel, blue and red light controls, wide oven windows, and new features like steam cleaning and bottom oven: hold warm. Haven't tried them yet though. Always like to have the convection feature, my husband uses frequently.The only drawback is the constant 'noise', when using the oven. doesn't matter if convection is on or not, there is a rather loud whirl noise which stays on longer than I think necessary once the oven is turned off for cool down purposes. My last whirlpool gold did not sound like this, but, I still like the oven and the price!
