Big bang for your buck

This monitor is much more than I expected for the money I spent. Image is crystal clear, and response time is quick. I used this monitor to edit video, and I love it. I am thinking of getting another one, because I would like to have two monitor at my desktop for easy editing. HP hit it this time by making this quality monitor at an affordable price. I was once a fan of Samsung monitor, but now decided to go with HP instead.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought a 23" LED monitor to go with a new PC I purchased at the same time. LED clarity and color much better than an older 17" LCD monitor I had been previously using. I like the additional screen real estate on this monitor and it is not obtrusive at all size-wise. Some people have said that up and down adjustments are not possible for physical adjustment of the viewing height, but I don't find that to be an issue. I probably could have gotten a 25" monitor and will probably do that the next time I upgrade. All in all a good monitor.

I couldn't believe the difference from my old screen to this led backlit monitor.The graphics are amazing. It is so easy to view especially with my aging eyes. I would have never believed viewing would be this good! THANKS

It's a widescreen - not always

After installing the driver from the enclosed disk the monitor went into a weird mode using only 2/3rds of the screen area. I upgraded my OS to Windows 8 and the monitor still likes the 4:3 aspect on occasion. It can be corrected by repeatedly turning the power on and off. Just be careful of the wobbly stand. If it doesn't behave this week, it's going back.
Text is not very clear. It has a distorted and blurry look that ClearType can't even correct.
Compared to the 23" Dell I have at work, the 2311xi falls short. Plus the Dell can be bought for 25% less than the sale price on the HP.
I'm a diehard HP RPN calculator fan. My 20 year old HP48 from engineering school just recently died. Too bad HP doesn't have the quality and innovation they used to.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
