Chassis wore out? Odd. Moving parts have too much play.

The Mirra 530 does a much better job than the pool guy ever did so for that I would say it was worth the year's worth of service this robot cost relative to what I was paying him. With that said, the overall robustness of the design is lacking in some areas. Specifically, I would prefer it if the brush assembly were more solidly attached. As designed it uses a spring-loaded brush that mates between two floating spacers(?). Over the 2 years I used it the brush got looser to the point where one end was moving around and wearing down the mounting hole. Today the brush basically just falls out. The robot doesn't do anything when turned on except sit in one spot while pushing water with its fan. I can officially say my robot's chassis is worn out. Seems pretty bad for the actual robot housing to be the failing element and not the brush, wheels, filter or some other easily replacable item. One other thought ... you should consider adding Wifi messaging to the unit (maybe the power supply?) to notify when it is done cleaning. Maybe it could also have it provide some interesting data about the cleaning cycly (runtime, whether it thought the pool was clean/dirty, any maintenance recommedations).
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Easy To Use
Cons: Cheap Construction

Cleans our 15x30 pool. Easy to drop in pool and turn on. Repairs are much easier than other types of pool cleaners. This unit seems to be built to allow easy access to change moyor, wheels, and other parts that eventually wear out. So repairs can be a DIY project, however, parts are hard to find and they are very expensive. Other robots use only 1 mesh filter bags that can be found locally for about $30. The Irobot uses 2 filter baskets that cost $99 each plus S&H and/or tx. Does not remove dustlike particles from pool floor. Basket must be cleaned after every use and if you use a little too much water pressure (needed to clean filter material) it tears the filter from the filter frame. Covers my entire deep end but rarely ever cleans the shalloe 1/3 of the pool unless I direct it with a pole. Never cleans my steps. I am truly sorry I opted to save a money and changed to this unit. My old Aquabot Brav did a much better job of keeping my pool clean. It did cost more money to purchase and was more difficult to repair but it was worth the difference and the parts were readily available amd more reasonably priced.
Pros: Easy To Use, Sweeping The Pool Helps
Cons: Basket Replacement 100ea, Clean After Ea Use A Pain, Does Not Cover All Areas, Hose Psi Can Tear Filters, Leaves Fine Dustlike Dirt, Misses Spots, Pool Floor Always Dirty L

The cord has started to tangle after 3 months. Not terrible, but not as advertised. THe unit is no better or worse than my previous Pentair (Letro Platinum actually), but my biggest beef is that it doesn't do anything to capture surface pollen and floaters. I still have a lot of cleaning to do.
Pros: Long Run Time, Quiet
Cons: Cord Tangles, Doesn't Get Surface

Works well for a month then works like a Roomba. NOT!

I've purchased 7 Roombas and 1 Mirra. I don't know what I have been thinking. All the Roomba's died in the first year. I somehow expected more from the Mirra? These machines are REALLY COOL and are amazing pieces of engineering, but they do not last. ....and we have a pretty tame household. A little pet hair and 5-10 teens in and out most weekends. Several trees over the pool, but not horrible. Nothing that our Polaris couldn't handle. The Mirra just looked so much more robust. Bought it and in less than a month it just stopped working. Power unit? I think that is what died. Luckily we could send it back for a refund. Wish we could also send back all our Roombas. Its too bad. if they could make them more robust so they would last as long as a Hoover, they could take over the world. Alas they are not and will not....

Not a must have

I've had the unit for over a month now and use it about 3 times a week. In the past, I used the traditional hose vac connected to my filter. I would vacuum twice a week using the old method. How does it compare? I think the hose, manual vacuuming actually does a better job. It can get the corners and angels better where the Mirra has difficulty with. In addition, the traditional method does a better job at cleaning the small dirt on the floor. The Mirra doesn't seem to get this stuff as evidence when I move a brush along the bottom of the pool, I'm moving dirt around. This is after the Mirra has done its thing. I adjusted the plastic pieces at the bottom of the Mirra to an all the way down position and that didn't seem to make a difference. I also use my brush and move the dirt/bugs away from the corners and edges of the pool to help Mirra do its thing. The robot also spends more time in the deep end than the shallow. In fact, the shallow end of the pool doesn't seem to get a thorough cleaning, at all. What I like about the unit: 1. I can toss it in and let it do its thing while I'm off doing other work 2. It does a fine job getting the leaves and bugs 3. It does filter the water through and probably is keeping the pool water cleaner I'm not sure if I would recommend the unit over the manual method as far as the quality of the cleaning; especially at this price point. However, I did decide to keep the unit because it does free up my time. I know it will help with pool opening/closing because I can run the unit with the water drained down below the sifters, so I won't waste chemicals at closing.
Pros: Hassle Free Operation, Quiet
Cons: Does Not Clean Stairs, Not Thorough

I recieved this unit today. I was very excited about the cleaning prospects of this unit. I owned a Verro for 5 years. Great unit. So I setup the Mirra. soaked the wheels for 15min. dropped it in the pool, and started it. Seemed to be working OK. Left to do other work around the house. I came back and it was off. So I left it for a while and came back later as the pool was not clean, Tried starting it up and it would not start. Tried everything no luck. So what do I do? It arrived today and now it's dead! Must say I am very disappointed. This is no where near the quality of the Verro 500.

A Breakthrough Product

We have an irregularly shaped pool with barstools, a bench and steps. Our Polaris never did a good job of cleaning the entire pool. The Mirra does a much better job, although it occasionally gets stuck behind the bar stools, and it makes a feeble attempt to clean the bench and steps. Picks up fine sediment and probably helps keep algae under control. Great product.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Filters Fine Particles, Intelligent Navigation, Looks Cool
Cons: Can Get Stuck
