It takes time to learn to use, but it works good once you do

My first use I had many of the problems that many of the poor reviewers had. I tied a string to the back of it now and let if go forward. I keep tension on the string and can tell a lot about how it is performing. The string is handy to pull it back a little bit when in tougher debris, and then let it advance slowly. It saves me lots of ladder time on a side of a hill that I feel is dangerous. It's a good product once you get the handle of it. Use lithium batteries in the remote as they seem to last longest and work best.
Pros: Cleans Effectively

This was a great purchase

I bought this for my husband . Before we had a metal roof put on my husband would get on the roof to clean the gutters . But after the metal roof it was to slick for him to do so . There is no way to clean the backside of our house using a ladder do to the slope behind the house. My husband seen an ad on tv for this iRobot . I got online to check it out . Read the reviews .Order one my husband loves it . The iRobot Looj did a great job . I read on the reviews where they said the iRobot flipped and they had to retrieve it . We tied a small white cotton rope on the back of it just in case . Cause there would be no way for us to retrieve it . But it had no trouble it did a great job . I bought 6/21 got it on 6/26 my husband has already clean the gutters twice . It is his favorite new tool .
Pros: Attractive, Durable, Easy To Assemble

Even if the robot works perfectly... where do all the pine needles and leaves go? On the roof (to come right back with the next gust of wind!) or on the lawn/bar-b-q/outside furniture (whatever is underneath! Another cleanup to do. And let me tell you that wet leaves aren't easy to cleanup...

I have high gutters and a steep roof. The looj makes gutter cleaning much much safer. It is important to have realistic expectations though, it isn't as self sufficient as the Roomba. I tied some thin rope to the back of mine and usually monitor it the whole time, pulling it back when it gets stuck or flips over. The benefit though is that you only have to setup a ladder once to clean an entire gutter. You only need one safe place to put the ladder- so you're not climbing through bushes and on slopes. I've used mine about twice a year for the past 8 years and it has worked great until now. The brush/paddle motor doesn't seem to have the power it used to so I came here trying to buy another one. I'm worried though because they aren't available right now and are not listed on iRobot's main products list. Everyone needs to buy these so they keep making them. It's a great product!
