Great for high gutters!

I was skeptical with the Gutter cleaning robot and read a lot of reviews. Since my gutter is +35' above ground, I decide to give it a try. I reach out of my window on 3F and drop the robot in the gutter. Use the remote to clean it. It was efficient and it did a terrific job. I only wish it would make turns. Battery life is good. I manage to do a small part at a time to reduce the risk of running out of battery. I will give Looj an A! If it makes turns, this robot would definitely get an A+.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Easy To Use, Hassle Free Operation
Cons: Debris flies everywhere., Noisy, does not make turns!

GOTTA LOVE THE ONE REVIEW WITH 'HANDLE'

The guy who is complaining about the handle getting in the way should read the instructions! You are supposed to remove the handle before sending it down the gutter! LOL!

Loog 330 Worked as advertised

I have a cottage that has about 350 lin feet of eavestrough. Have a lot of trees that drop leaves. Havent cleaned trough in a couple of years. The Loog 330 did what it was suppose to do. Was quite suprised of its ability. When the unit works hard, battery life is shorter than mentioned in specs... I would suggest a stronger battery. All in all the Loog 330 accomplished every thing i anticipated.

The reason for the purchase was to eliminate having to climb up and down a ladder and move it all around the house. We had to stand on the ladder the entire time to watch the Looj was in the gutter in case it flipped over or flipped out of the gutter or just stopped after getting stuck and It had a difficult time cleaning leaves out of a wet gutter. I was able to clean six feet of gutter with the Looj in the time it took my husband to clean all the gutters around the house (over 300 feet) The Looj did not save us time or hard work with moving the ladder. The customer service was exceptional when I called to return the Looj. We have a Roomba 880 and LOVE it. Highly recommend the Roomba!

Worked great even on wet, clogged debris

We have about 60 feet of gutter that is very hard to reach safely, and as a result one section was last done a year ago, and another so long ago that it had an 18 inch pine tree growing in it (at least 3 years)...so I was hoping this robot would let us clean these high gutters from a spot where you could reach up to put the robot in from a lower roof. The robot did a great job on the lower gutters that had been cleaned 5 months ago. Sometimes I had to override auto mode to back up and go over the area a second or third time, especially if it hit a pine cone. If the robot rides up over the pine cone, it can get stuck. Note it had rained the night before, so I was pleased it worked through wet debris. But, how to do the areas where we couldn't get up to free it? We tied a heavy twine/light rope to the back so that if it got in trouble, we could pull it back....just had to be sure to reel in the twine when backing up. And we had to put up a ladder so that I could watch the process and help it through the rough parts. Perfect!. It took about 40 minutes to clean the worst 25 feet, after we reached out a window and removed the pine tree volunteer...I often went on manual and backed it up, even had to use the rope to pull it back once...residual tree roots had wrapped around the auger and it stopped. But the job is done, even though the majority of debris in this section was wet compost/dirt from years of neglect. I will use it at least twice a year, probably three times...early spring, mid summer and late fall. I didn't get my 30-ft-ladder-free option that I was hoping for, but I did get clean gutters without going up and down and moving the ladder so many times. Thanks, IRobot. How about a remote camera to watch from below?

CAN NOT GET REPLACEMENT PARTS

I have been recommending the Looj to others because it saves me from climbing a 15 foot ladder or hanging off the edge of a steep roof. But in the first season the brushes on the auger have worn out. I consider this reasonable but when I contacted iRobot to buy a replacement part, they told me I could buy an accessory kit. I do not need an accessory kit, something one usually buys with an initial purchase, I need a replacement part.

Gives up too easily

The Looj gives up too easily! 99% of the time it will think that it is hopelessly stuck when it is not. When it thinks it is stuck, it goes into "red mode" where it will not respond to the remote control at all! You cannot tell it to move and you cannot tell it to clean. You have to go and fetch it yourself and hit the power button on the side of the Looj unit make it reset. Ultimately you end up going into full manual mode where you basically double-click the forward button and hold it down until the remote control blinks yellow. When it blinks yellow it means that the Looj has run into more debris than it can handle. Let go and wait a couple seconds. Then put it in reverse for a few seconds. If you don't get any yellow then switch back to forward and repeat. If you get a yellow blink on the remote control, it's very important to stop sending commands to the robot. Otherwise you could risk it going into "red mode" and then you'll have to go and fetch it. Pressing the "clean" button is a sure way to get your Looj to go into "red mode" so I never use it and I drive the Looj manually from the remote. Which means sitting there baby-sitting the robot while it cleans. In my opinion, it's a serious software problem... A robot should never just go into a mode where it decides to completely ignore the remote control. Very annoying.. Overall, it's still better than cleaning gutters manually. It just takes a bit of learning how to operate it well.
