With this I can slice apples and potatoes for pies and au gratin, as well as make dough - all things I could not dream of doing before with my hands. This Cuisinart has made it possible for me to cook some of the recipes that I had put away for 20 years, which makes me very happy.
I love the food processor. I do wish it had an adjustable setting for how thick or think you want the slices but knew when I bought this model it wasnt an option so I gave it a 5 star. But what I think is fantastic is making pie crust. Never knew how easy it was to cut in butter and now I love making pie crust.
This is my first food processor ever! I had been wanting one to make more things from scratch for healthier less processed food/meals. My first use was to make coleslaw which used all the parts...chopping blade, shredder and slicing discs. Was amazed at how easy and efficient it was to use. I am so happy with my purchase and will be using this to make everything from salad dressings, soups, veggies and entrees.
I'm a longtime Cuisinart food processor user, and the bowl and lid assembly of this unit is MUCH improved over what I've had in the past. Earlier versions had interlocking plastic tabs to safely activate the motor and to prevent the blade from spinning when the lid was off, and while they did their job, they were vulnerable to breakage. On this processor, metal parts perform the activation function. This is an excellent upgrade. The unit performs its slicing, shredding, grating and kneading functions just as expected.
This is my second Cuisinart 14-cup food processor. The first one performed extremely well for 25+ years! It was used almost DAILY during that time. It was like an old friend. When it gave it up after so many years of service. I immediately ordered another one of the same model. It works beautifully!
This is my 2nd Food processor. I have owned an 11 Cup processor and after 12 years I decided to upgrade to a larger unit. The 11 cup unit started to show wear & tear esp around the pusher and top, I felt that in time it would crack so that made my decision easier. Upon reflection I felt the old unit still operated well so I searched on line for replacements parts and was able to purchase a now pusher and top. so Now my son has a "new" 11 cup processor. Cuisinart, in my view (& in Cook's Illustrated testing) makes the best food processor. Considering its my go-to tool in the Kitchen for many recipes, its a work horse that has never let me down even at the prime old age of 12 yrs old I expect this unit to outlast me now.
Very pleased with this food processor. It is priced higher than others but worth the extra cost. It is a solidly built appliance, It is easy to clean as long as you rinse it out after use, wipes dry and looks like new with a minimal amount of effort. Powerful motor and heavy unit displays the quality design.
I really like this product. This is the second one of these we've purchased. The first one lasted a good 10 years. It's quality built and easy to use. I also bought a dough blade for it to help makie bread and pizza dough.
