I bought this 14 cup food processor to replace my old Cuisinart 7 cup food processor. I love the capacity of the new one, but really miss the short lid without the pusher that my older food processor has. I hate cleaning all the pieces of the taller lid, when I almost never use the chute/pusher. I don't understand why Cuisinart doesn't offer the shorter lid for new model food processors.
I've owned Cuisinart food processors since the late '70s. I use mine in a multitude of ways on a weekly if not daily basis. What I really wanted was a replacement work bowl for my previous Cuisinart. Motor was still in good condition. Had to purchase this new one instead (!). Website does not seem to be working, but I will keep attempting to purchase a replacement work bowl for this one in advance of need.
Purchase new 14 cup Cuisinart as replacement for 40 yrs old DLC-7, which finally needed to be retired from service, as the cover and bowl cracked. No complaints so far with the new 14 cup Cuisinart.
I've used my new Cuisinart twice since purchasing it a month ago. Pleased to find it works very much like the one I had for the past 25 years and used all the time--smoothly and perfectly. I'm delighted to have it for the upcoming holidays for baking and soups.
The processor is very effective. The top and the piece that engages the power/on is plastic and really concerns me if it will last. My old version did not have that part and lasted 30 years. I plan to hand wash the top as one wrong move in the dishwasher, I fear, break that piece. I’d love to be proved wrong, however as I use my food processor for so many things and Cuisinart has always been very reliable.
I'm very happy with my new Cuisinart Customer 14 food processor. I bought it for the large capacity, the great reviews, and the Cuisinart name and reputation. I recently used it to prep a lot of vegetables for stuffed cabbage (galumpkis) and it made short work of it. I recommend this machine.
