We finally replaced our very old Cuisinart processor. It still works but the plastic was breaking. This new unit is great looking and seems to have all the power as the old one, but it has a more durable safety switch design. I guess about twenty years is a reasonable lifetime for a heavily used kitchen appliance.

I bought my first Cuisinart 40 plus years ago. It was this same format, with the two buttons on the front. My husband replaced it 20 years ago with a different model and it worked well until just recently it didn't. I've gone back to the two button model, in a larger size and I'm as happy as can be with this product. It just works beautifully, and the extra capacity (from my former 11 cup models) is wonderful. You can't go wrong with a Cuisinart. You just can't.
