Why did I wait so long to buy this?!? Ok, it’s really because I expected it to be a pain in the butt to clean. IT’S NOT! Every piece goes into the dishwasher. Now, back to the business end of the 14 cup DFP-14N. I made a cabbage salad in under 5 minutes, slicing cabbage, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes (then hand quartered the tomatoes), added a can of garbanzo beans and a made a quick white balsamic dressing. DONE! Didn’t need to change the slicing disc or clean anything between veggies. Just dumped each shred into a bowl and started the next.
I made pizza dough from a recipe in the Instruction & Recipe Book that was so dang easy and perfect I am still amazed. It freezes well too. You have no idea how many pizza dough recipes I’ve tried. My advice, buy the food processor!
I checked out other reviews like America's Test Kitchen and finally decided to bite the bullet and spend the money on this food processor. It was a lot more expensive than other food processors I have owned, but the power of this machine is incredible and the build quality feels like a professional kitchen tool. I look at this as a buy once, cry once purchase like my Vitamix. I expect this to last for many years.
This is my first food processor and hopefully my last! It's a solid machine that, once you're past the learning curve of assembling the parts, is a great addition to my kitchen! I've only processed tons of basil and make pesto so far, but the ease of use and clean-up makes me excited to try more recipes! Next up, nut butters and mayo! It's worth the price and the hype!
I received the product in the mail yesterday, 11 October 2025. I had hoped to use it to chop some vegetables for a recipe. However, after about 15 minutes of frustration, I could not get the machine to work so I cut them by hand. What I finally figured out was that "small and large pushers" container must be fitted correctly in order for the machine to work. It has a "handle" on it. I held it by the handle and put it in the feed tube with the handle facing forward which I thought was correct as it seemed to fit perfectly. What I ultimately figured out was the "handle" must go to the rear so that it pushes the spring back and once inserted pushes down the small button located at the bottom back of the machine. I recommend your instructions be updated to clearly explain this so that others do not go through the same frustration I went through simply to get the machine to run. I doubt I'm the only one who has run into this. To me, it seems like it should be an easy addition to booklet. I may write another review once I've used the machine a few times.
I needed a bigger food processor and have always loved Cuisinart. I had a smaller version and it just wasn’t powerful enough. With the 14 cup size it is much easier to slice Brussels sprouts and grate cheese. So easy to use and easy to clean. I love it.
