When first using it, the lid didn't seem to engage properly. There is a "sweet spot" I just couldn't seem to find. Thought it was defective, because I couldn't remove the lid without removing the feed tube first though I had seen it used on cooking shows thusly. With a lot of trial and error I got it to engage properly. I have wanted a Cuisinart for a LONG TIME and was disappointed at first. Now I have been enjoying it more. But I think the mechanics of the lid and feed tube seems delicate and fiddly and easily breakable. Hope this is not the case.
I had one before and used it until it died. Tried a cheaper model which sounded like a lawn mower. Went back to this modell and happy as a clam. Powerful moter, QUIET, and does everything I ask of it.
I got this for Christmas and I like it. I haven't used it a lot, but when I have it's been great. As this is my first food processor, I found the videos extremely beneficial.
This is my third Cuisinart food processor since 1983, and I would not be without one. It is a wonderful time saver, especially for things like slicing potatoes and shredding cheese.
