I bought this to replace an older one that I can no longer get parts for. I loved the older unit and I love this on. It makes cooking and baking so much easier.
Received a previous version of this processor as a wedding gift over twenty years ago and just replaced that unit with the 14 cup. For the price, this unit offers power, simplicty, and durability in a food processor - all important considerations.
This replaced a KitchenAid processor that was 25 years old with which I was very happy. Concerned about a new one but it was necessary. This thing is great! I think it could chop a car if you wanted.
I had one of the first food processor models that Cuisinart sold, but the plastic bowl cracked some time ago, which made it very difficult to use. I recently purchased the Custom 14 cup procerror based on America's Test Kitchen review, and I love it! I use it almost daily, and now don't know how I cooked without it.
I bought this to replace a very old, little bit smaller processor. I cook almost all of our meals at home, 2-4 servings at a time. I find that the effort I have to put into cleaning it is just not worth it most of the time. My old processor had fewer parts and was much easier to clean. The only time it is worthwhile is when I make my big batches of marinara. The thinnest slicer disc is not worth using. It really doesn't take long to make slices that thick by hand. I like to make very thin slices and there is not a disc available to do so.
