I bought this a few weeks ago because my other food processor was worn out and smelling like burning wires when in use. I chose this processor because of the reviews from America's Test Kitchen. I was glad I did. The 14 cup size makes it easy when processing food for canning. Where I would have to process two batches before, I now do one. In addition the power is so much more. It chops everything completely. No more sifting through what I just processed to see if I got it all. I purchased the dough blade for it and it works wonderfully when making pie dough. It is quick and easy and keeps the mess contained. The slicer and shredder blades are extremely sharp and slice and shred with out ripping and tearing.Your product comes out of the machine clean. In addition, it is easy to clean as it has no hidden nooks and crannies to hide food in and my favorite thing about this machine is that when you pull the large feed tube, the blades STOP. When slicing something like cucumbers, you can place several in the tube the way you want to slice them then when you put the large feed tube pusher back in place, the machine starts up again and slices cleanly. No more dropping it in the tube and having it drop side ways so that you get strange cuts of vegetables.
The part that broke on my cuisinart is a problem and well known to break. Warranty did not cover. I hope they have changed the design or people stop buying the 14-cup model. I know I'm sorry I bought after using it twice and it broke. After using Google I found it is a well known problem.
I bought this food processor to replace my old DLC-7, which I purchased in 1990. What a workhorse that one was!! It was still going strong after all those years of use, but a piece of the work bowl cracked off on the bottom and it wouldn't operate without an intact work bowl. Actually, that was my second replacement work bowl, but this time I couldn't find a replacement bowl that would fit such an old machine. I was sorry to see it go. I'm sure this new one will serve me well also.
I bought my food processor a couple of weeks ago, and I am loving it so far. It is extremely sturdy, so much more so than a few cheaper ones that I have had that were short of worthless. This thing does such a fantastic job of mixing, chopping and grating, I wish I had bought it sooner. It's worth the price. I did struggle to initially put it together, but once I figured it out, it is easy to assemble. Also very easy to clean.
We love the power it has and how fast it chops up things. The only complaint we have is the piece that you feed your vegetables thru is very hard to slide into the back of the lid .
I am replacing my first cuisinart that was 38 years old . And still worked , the workbowl was cracking and I just figured it was to to retire it. I seriously reviewed all brands figuring that there had to be a better one on the market by now . After looking at all others, I ended up getting the same brand again. I am just as in love with it the second time around ! Can’t improve perfect!
