This was a birthday gift from my husband. I've had a 7 cup for years but always found myself having to empty it when I was chopping tomatoes when canning and make more tomatoes. Now I can do it in half the time! I used it chop pounds of nuts for my Christmas cookies too. It's been getting a workout in the past two months!
I purchased the Cuisinart food processor and absolutely love it! It is a joy to use and saves so much time in meal preparation. High quality machine, durable, easy to use and cleaning is a breeze!
When I first set it up I tried the 3 blades to get a feel for what each one does. The power is great- I finally put aside the Braun food processor I’ve had since the early 90’s. The 4 and not 5 stars is due to the following: 1. more blades should be included. 2. The power shuts off once the presser is lifted out to put more food in the tube. This is annoying. The food has to be small enough to completely fit in the tube with room for the presser to activate the power /spin. My Braun kept spinning so I could feed food continuously. I’m worried about the longevity of the insertion power tripper (no idea what it’s called , but there’s a piece on the presser that must be inserted into a square slide on the receiving end in order to activate the spin.). I was shredding a lot of potatoes for Hanukkah and I had to cut the potatoes into thirds or else the presser couldn’t activate the power. I do like the 14 cup capacity- held 5 shredded medium russet potatoes. The feet on the bottom grip the counter so it doesn’t move while you’re using it. It cleans easily. Storage is tricky because it’s heavy- you don’t want to store it overhead; it takes up too much space to leave out on the counter. Hopefully you have a bottom cabinet with enough height to leave the cup attachment on. Assembly of blades is easy.
I can now do recipes that I couldn't do before. I am so glad to have this food processor. The motor is really powerful and mixes ingredients very quickly. I am excited about how the possibilities have opened up in the kitchen for me for the holidays this year.
powerful enough to make raw almond butter with no problem. It slices, shreds, kneads dough perfectly. I also use it to puree tomatoes for tomato sauce. With a 5 year warranty on the motor, ease of use and clean I just cannot find anything not to like. I made a sound investment and am very happy with my purchase.
