Disappointed

I am disappointed in this particular GE apiance. Especially because it is a GE. We had it two years and we already started having problems. We have had cheap table top microwaves that lasted much longer without any problems. It’s frustrating because we spent 3x the cost on this one. First, part of the digital display has gone out. Then, the turntable continuously runs when not in use. It even has shut down on us. It also gets so much condensation even with a few minutes of use. Sadly, we never use the convection oven feature, so that was certainly a waist of money for that feature.

Doesn't Heat

Isn't this supposed to be GE's high-end brand?
We've had this microwave for less than 2 years and today the plate decided it would spin only when the door was open but not when it was closed-meaning it stopped heating food. I guess we'll see how much it's going to cost us to fix it.

GE needs to have better warranty.No way to fix that.powers up but does not heat anything.

I am so disappointed in this product. It is less than 2-1/2 years old and the control panel is going out. The timer and start/pause buttons no longer work. When one purchases the top of the line we expect the product to last. We also purchased the refrigerator and range from the Cafe line. I am hoping the microwave performance is not indicative of what we can expect from the rest of the line.

Didn't last long for the price.

Bought an entire GE kitchen set including this microwave oven in November 2017. The keypad partially stopped working a few weeks ago. It no longer heats up and the tray stopped spinning. Two many things wrong with it to even consider fixing it since it will now cost almost as much to fix then to buy new.

Broken already

Our microwave isn't even 4 years old yet and it has broken. The microwave all of a sudden stopped heating food items. The microwave is on and all the buttons work, but it does not heat food up.

We're incredibly sorry to hear that your microwave is not heating and absolutely understand how frustrating that is. If your microwave runs but is not heating, there could be one of many components that is not working properly.
Please make sure the “Timer” function was not inadvertently used.
Check to ensure the door is closed securely. Open the door and close it firmly. This confirms the engagement of the door's safety mechanisms.
For safety reasons, we offer no do-it-yourself repair advice on microwave ovens. There is an internal high voltage capacitor which can hold a high voltage charge even after the microwave has been unplugged. Also, special equipment is generally needed to make a diagnosis for the repair needed.

Rattles and Thumps

The turntable does not really engage the driver axle, no matter how much fussing one does with it. Consequently the axle lifts the plate bumps on each cycle and it thumps back down-- three thumps per turn. Most annoying. Also, my unit is mounted in the island at knee height and that makes the control pad very hard to read. Backlighing would be an enormous help. Instead, I attach with a magnet a small LED light with a bendable neck to the stainless steel mounting plate around it.
