Electronic panel breaks

I have bought two of these and both times the electronic panel broke within a couple of years. The part is extremely expensive to replace. When it works, it's a nice microwave, but the repair issues make it a disaster.

Second time to the shop in eight months

I bought the GE Cafe appliance CEB1599SJISS eight months ago. It is going back to the shop for the second time for the same thing. It is nice when it works. I would not buy this model again. It looks like I will need to get the extended warrant.

NOT WORKING after 17 months

"Was" fine. Installed in late Feb 2019; in August 2020 no heating, no turntable turning. SO frustrating that this is out of warranty. TOO expensive to work for 17 months

Dead After only 3 Years

This microwave has been terrible. It only lasted 3 years and at this price point I expected better quality. The keep pad partially worked after 2 years, the turn table would turn when not on and now it has completely stopped working. Never again!

We're so sorry to hear that your microwave has stopped working after only three years and can understand your disappointment. This model does have a 5 year warranty on the magnetron tube. Please take a look at the warranty information on page 22 of the owner's manual.

Door "hook" broke after a month.

After finally receiving my microwave from my builder. After a month of light use the black plastic"hook" broke. Therefore the micro wave doesn't work and the turn table doesn't turn. Closing the door broke the "hook".

Good for roast meat and frozen dinners

Microwave is especially convenient for frozen food that needs a whole number of minutes, up to 6 minutes, because I can cook it by pressing one button. Ability to add 30 seconds is also convenient. Longer and other cooking times require more button presses. Convection oven does a reasonable job roasting meat, although the roast often comes out rarer than we expected for the time it cooked.

Buttons not working

Less than two years old with the same button failures reported by numerous others. About half of the buttons work but to cook you can pretty much only use the add 30 seconds feature since the pause/start button doesn't work. Can't set the time unless you can plan to set it when it aligns with your numbers that work...

2.5 years old been to the dealer twice

Bought the GE Cafe series everything for my new home, very bad decision in 2.5 years washer has broken twice, the microwave also broken twice, the fridge makes loud fan type noise, oven cooks uneven. I even paid to have these professionally installed by the factory authorized dealer. Mistake nothing was set level, fridge doors swing to the open position instead of close. GE made there last $ off of me.
