Like the benefit of dual use, micro + convection

Our 16 year old GE Profile with built in trim kit was beginning to act up and I my selection was limited by a microwave that would fit in the existing opening and power. I wanted convection as we have a single oven and wanted the ability to have a second smaller oven to use when the large oven was in use at a different temperature. There was a GE model and the Cafe. I went with the Cafe for wifi connection and the ability to scan your food and it to set the cooking automatically. While it does have that feature, to date, not one frozen entry has the item been found in the app, so pretty useless. The microwave and the convection cook very well. As noted in other reviews, to easily open the door you need to either use one finger and press exactly in the middle of the button, or use two fingers simultaneously to press on the left and right of the button. The microwave is easy to use, but not for presets, like reheat. It has RHT1, RHT2, etc. Why not build in a display that says, Soup, Potatoes, Meats, etc, instead of having to look up the menu or build it into the app. Fingerprints are pretty prevalent requiring frequent wipe downs.

Sleek look to my kitchen

I replaced all my kitchen appliances with GE’s Cafe Series. The microwave is the only piece that that does not have the Cafe Signature handles, but the streamlined design still works perfectly with the kitchen design. The microwave has so many features , but my favorite is the “sensor cook.” So far everything that I have cooked has been cooked to perfection. Love the new look to my whole kitchen and also like that all the appliances are connected to WIFI.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought all new Cafe kitchen appliances and still learning.
I don't think the microwave needs to have the convection option.
I think with the heating element inside it will be more difficult to clean.

Controls hard to read

Lots of hidden features when you don’t feel like heating up the entire stove top or oven, even has convection and preset reheat buttons
