Malfunction multiple occasions and now unusable

Go this brand new and in its 3rd year, certain buttons stopped working (30 seconds wouldn't work and 1 mins wouldn't work so I had to over cook at 2 mins and cancel manually when 30 seconds or 1 mins was up). Then in its 4th year, the turntable stopped turning and then started working again after a while). There was also a period when the heat stopped, but then it came back. Lately the digital display has gone out and it went completely dark but still usable as long as you didn't care to see the digits. Then now, the buttons have gone out again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Stopped working after two years, repaired and just

Just after two years of use, the control panel reading screen was faulty and not showing numbers at all or incorrectly. Then shortly after, the whole thing shutdown. I had the control panel replaced under insurance, and now a year later, the entire microwave has shutdown again… extremely frustrating for what is to be their higher end models.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not worth the purchase

Not a good product. The heating element doesn't work most of the time. We've had ours for 2 years and now the microwave doesn't work at all. We can only use certain buttons and the display is not working properly. We installed all cafe appliances with our home, and will now have to replace the microwave.

Great Microwave

The standard microwave features are good, but I really love the convection bake option. And I love that it has wifi so I can control remotely.

Only lasted 3 years

Started malfunctioning at three years. The first sign of malfunctioning was the turntable started turning when you open the door. 3 months after that the turntable no longer turns at all and the microwave will no longer heats at all. We also bought the GE cafe refrigerator and dishwasher and they are already having problems as well.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worked like a champ, until…

We purchased all GE Cafe appliances when we remodel our kitchen. They look great, and have functioned very well. However, we are distressed over our convection microwave. Like several other people on this board, the problem is, when you open the door, the carousel starts to spin and the oven seemingly turns on. When you close the door it turns off (all of this without giving any commands). Don’t know what to do.

Microwave just stopped working

We recommend resetting your microwave by disconnecting power from the unit for 2 - 3 minutes and reconnecting power. If this reset does not revert the unit back to normal operating function, this will require service by a qualified technician. Ghosting display - disappointing reliability

Basically same issue with ours as well. Numbers dispersing on the LED display. Another oddity is the turntable in the microwave will spin anytime the door is open. It’s pretty annoying. This item was not cheap and I did expect a higher level of reliability from a GE premium line.

We want to help out with the display not operating properly. We recommend trying an electronic reset. This can be done by removing the power cord for 2-3 minutes then plugging it back in.
