Kimoc, I have heard your voice and am forwarding your observations about the lack of a display to our design engineers for consideration in future models. Nebraska has very hard water, some granular detergents can combine with hard water minerals and form a residue. Try increasing the water temperature using the hottest water safe for the fabric. Use liquid detergent or use non-precipitating water conditioner with powder detergent. Remember to add items one at a time, each tightly bunched into its own “ball” to allow beneficial item interaction. Avoid loading items in a flat, laid-out fashion (different from the way I learned to load a washing machine!). For the lint and residue you are finding in the dryer, ensure you are shaking any excessive sand or soil from the items before laundering. Use either a liquid or sheet fabric softener. Occasionally a waxy build-up may form on the lint filter and/or moisture sensing bars from using dryer-added fabric softener sheets. Page 17 in your Owner’s Manual goes over how to clean them.
