I have owned Blueair units for over 15 years and I have tried other brands. I agree with the air purifier ratings from Consumer Reports and consider Blueair among the best. I run 3 Blueair 205 units, one for each level of our home. We appreciate our continually clean indoor air, especially during smoky days from wildfires.

Excellent Air Purifier, Very Pricy

I live in Bakersfield, California which is notoriously known as one of the most polluted cities in terms of air quality. I really enjoy my 205 unit and it works well to remove the dust and other particles in the air of my home. I have noticed a slight decrease in terms of my allergic symptoms, such as a decreased frequency of sneezing, runny nose, or stuffed nose. You can control the unit from the app that you can download for free. The only negative thing I could say is the steep price for the unit and the filters.

Sooooo excited for my new Blueair 205. My friend who has terrible allergies had recommended me to research Blueair as he has had a 201 unit for years. After some research online I decided to purchase a 205 for my bedroom as the 205 is the perfect size for 260 sq ft. It's been up and running for now about 2 months and I can honestly say I sleep better then ever. I haven't had a runny nose from seasonal allergies since I plugged in the air purifier as I use to wake up nightly. Ordering was simple and shipping was free. I ordered on a Friday and it delivered on a Monday. Great service and a great product...

Lots of potential undermined bu buggy technology

The air filter seems to work as intended and is very quiet. The problem is that there are only three buttons on the device--most of the functionality (such as nighttime settings or changing the brightness of the LED) can only be accessed through a smartphone app, and the air cleaner refuses to stay connected. I have connected, deleted and reconnected the device four times, and it still won't stay connected. I can even go through the process of connecting it and then watch as seconds later it switches into offline mode. All of that means I have wasted a lot of time trying to debug this process and am left unable to change or set the nighttime settings. (For the record, I an a tech early adopter with 20 years experience coding websites and building my own PCs, so if I can't debug it, I suspect few will.) To add insult to injury, the FAQs on the website are almost a joke, basically telling those having issues to delete and reconnect the device.
I am really disappointed. This seems to be a great air purifier, and if they'd just put the darn buttons you need to use the thing on the device, it'd be great. But unless you like fiddling with smartphone apps and troubleshooting wifi connections, I cannot recommend this unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Allergies

My teenage daughter suffers from allergies and has to take an allergy pill every morning. I bought this unit and placed it in her bedroom, now for the past 3 weeks she has not needed to take even one allergy pill. Very impressed, the unit has lived up to its claims.

Love the low fan setting

Bought the classic 205 a few months ago after developing allergies. It has created a safe zone in our house. The low fan setting is very quiet and the build quality is great. Very solid.
