We have several air purifiers to help with allergy season in the spring/fall and flu season in the winter. I purchased this one for my daughter to take to her dorm. I debated between the 205 and 480i. I wanted the simplicity of the 205 as she couldn't hook it up to wifi at school, but the CADR of the 400 series so she could keep it on low. Ideally, I would have purchased the 405 but it seems to have been discontinued in the United States. I didn't want to pay extra for the i series when the added features would never be used.
I ended up choosing the 205 for simplicity, size, and price. It is definitely a 5 star air purifier (as are all the Blueair purifiers we have owned are). However, it is louder than the 480i and 605 we own when on speed 2. All three are very quiet on speed 1, and very loud on speed 3. However, the 480i and 605 are also pretty quiet on speed 2 while the 205 is quite noticeable on speed 2. Great for her room at home as speed 1 keeps the pollen out. However, at the dorm I would be more comfortable if she use it at a higher speed as I worry about close living quarters and flu season.
The 205 would be a perfect fit for a kids room, but I will go with the 400 series or HealthProtect 7410 when the next child moves to the dorm. Would love to have the classic 405 as an option... all the power and protection of a classic with less bells and whistles.

Best Air Purifier Ever

My husband and I bought this unit a couple of months ago and we are so happy that with it. We use it in our bedroom. We live in the midwest so most of our day is spent inside due to the weather. Even though our windows are closed a majority of the year our house smells like fresh air which is not an easy feat. I have owned many Air Purifiers over the years and this one is by far the best. It looks good and at the highest setting it sounds like white noise. We liked it so much we bought a bigger unit 605 for our basement. Our house is 110 years old and you would never know because it works so well. We would highly recommend Blueair.

I made the purchase of the Classic 205 after the recent fires in Oregon. We already had a larger Blueair unit for the front room, because my wife has asthma. The recent smoke in the air has made it so bad that my wife was restricted to living life indoors most of the time. We bought the Classic to put into our bedroom so she could have more restful nights. It works great! We noticed the difference almost immediately. Even having it on the highest setting is still fairly quiet!

Absolutely Love It

As someone who is allergic to just about everything in nature, especially animal fur, I frequently find myself waking up in the middle of the night to fits of sneezes and other allergy attacks. Since I put this air purifier in my bedroom, I have found that I can sleep and breathe more peacefully at night. I also love that it's so silent. I don't like having white noise when I fall asleep, so it's very helpful that I can't hear the purifier working its magic. I would absolutely recommend this air purifier to anyone who needs one.

Clean Air = Less Sneezing

I was a little skeptical at first at the price and the size as this is a pretty hardy air filter machine but after running it for a few hours I realized I wasn't feeling any head congestion and I think I am sleeping better.
It arrived quickly after it was ordered and promptly delivered by UPS. It had plenty of information in the box on the unit and was up and running in minutes. The app for the phone is pretty cool, can control the settings on the unit.
Overall very happy with the unit and for those considering an air filter for their home, I hope they seriously consider Blue Air. I have tried other products and they just don't seem to match up. Very happy with my unit.

It's a MUST HAVE!

I received my Blueair Classic 205 Wifi Enabled air purifier 10 days ago. This is the first air purifier that I have gotten for my apartment and I wish I would have gotten a Blueair purifier sooner. The product is made of quality materials and is well constructed. I didn't know what to expect from the Blueair purifier because I have never used a wifi enabled air purifier. Hands down, one of the coolest features I've encountered with an air purifier that engages the consumer through the Blueair Friend App. I use the app while I'm cooking or cleaning so I can change the fan speed on my Blueair. I also use the app to see the outdoor air quality in my area so I can prepare for my day. I have terrible environmental allergies and I need to know what to prepare for when I go to work. I have also noticed that my apartment does not collect as much dust as it did before my Blueair Classic so I don't have to waste time cleaning as often. I love my Blueair Classic 205 and highly recommend it!! It is easy to setup and use, packs a powerful punch with very little noise, it has made cleaning my apartment easier, as well as reducing my allergy flareups.

Clean air and quite device

We have been using BluerAir Classic for half a year now and we absolutly love it. Not only it clean the air perfectly but also it is quite at night and you can even specify the night-time mode - when it should go quite and lights off.
We baught it when our kid was born for two reasons: first, make sure the air is clean, and second, to remove the smell of somewhat older carper that we have. The device was standing close to the crib for last six months and it never bothered our baby.
It does the great job. I love wifi connectivity, HEPA filters, and programmable schedule.

We bought this for our son and daughter-in-law for Christmas as they live near the freeway. But then I wondered if it might make a difference in my bedroom as I'd been waking every morning with a small headache ,due to sinus issues, for years. We busted it out (don't tell!) and tried it for a couple of days. From the first morning no headache! We ordered a 405 for our larger bedroom, and took the 205 to their house because the horrific fires had begun here in Santa Barbara. The air here has been horrible from the smoke (we all wear gas masks to go to the market) and the miracle is that neither myself nor my son have gotten migraines from the smoke, as we normally would have. We're so grateful for our Blueairs! I bought another for my guest room, and have 5 friends ordering them for their homes. This is a terrific product and I heartily recommend it.
