Excellent printer/scanner/copier

I have nothing to say about this unit except to praise it for it's performance!! It prints quickly, scans perfectly and copies the same way. As a special bonus, the cartridges of ink are nicely priced, compared to the last Epson I had. Great machine for a very reasonable price.

my printer tends to malfunction on me. won't let me print pictures, for printing regular paper stuff, it won't print the full page. there's blank lines through it.

I prefer Epson printers and looked for a new one to replace my old. This also copies which I love. Easy set up and fast too. A great little machine. Would certainly recommend.

This is a nice speedy little printer that gets the job done. Haven't scanned with it yet but I would think that it scans as well as my old Epson did....Really good...Ill try it soon...That why I got an Epson because I loved my other older one....

I initially bought this printer as it was compatible for new computer that was Win 7, but is easier to use and less expensive cartridges

I have only had this machine for a short time. I use the new Epson to make 4"x6" art prints, which I send on note cards to knowledgeable friends. I also own an Epson 3800 to make large exhibition prints, which I find to be an excellent product, without exception. The Epson X-400 makes excellent prints, but requires some coaxing. Out of the box, it's prints tend towards being slightly overexposed and contrasty, which can be readily addressed in Photoshop. And, when I designate a 4"x6" print (or 4" x whatever dimsension is proportional), it seems to want to crop the print slightly, for which I haven't yet found a reason or answer--it may be in some footnote in the manual. Once adjusted, it reproduces the original image with great fidelity. I have initially used Epson's Ultra Premium Photo Paper Glossy. It works quite well with the X-400, however it is expensive and it's surface is extremely liable to develop surface scratches with the slightest handling. And, it appears that the Epson inks will be considerably more expensive than those for my previous printer. All in all, the Epson X-400 is capable of excellent results, but, like a fine horse, it may need an experienced handler to produce it's optimum performance.
